It's doing so because we have a lot of novice users that configure things that end up breaking.
So throughout the years the whole application is filled with safeguards against users breaking things.
The really advanced users usually prefer NZBGet as there they can do anything

Re: SAB not remembering the hostname settings
Ah now I understand.
From the code I can see that when a hostname is set, we try go resolve it. Only if we can resolve it, we bind to it. As a safety measure.
Otherwise we try to find the ip of the device hostname and use that.

Re: sabnzbd after Download shows no progress bar on unpacking status
Some types of archives don't show unpacking progress, like zips and 7zips. Maybe it's one of those?
Try downloading the 1Gb test file in the Status window, what does it show?

Re: History retention what is the archive
It's just another layer in the history, nothing too special. But useful if you want to use duplicate detection while still having a clean History.

Re: History retention what is the archive
It's a square box with an arrow in it. Just hover over the buttons at the bottom right and it will show tooltip.

Re: History retention what is the archive
On the main page, below the history on the right there is the button to toggle the Archive.
This is where jobs go if you delete them from the history, just like in your email client etc. You can also choose to permanently delete jobs directly if you don't want an archive.

Re: Nabewerking mislukt

Re: SAB not remembering the hostname settings
I think you are either using the Safe start option or somewhere in the script or shortcut that you use to start SABnzbd, the --server command line parameter is used.
This overrides user configured host and port one on startup.

Yes, if you have Duplicate Detection enabled it indeed will trigger. Since they are duplicate file names

Enable Debug logging in the Status window and then after it happens again click Show Logging.
In the log, it will show a Traceback why it failed to run it.

You can't. Add them separately maybe?

Re: External Access not resolving, other servers working...
If you can reach Sab from your computer, then Sab is configured correctly.. It doesn't know the difference if it's exposed to the internet or not.

Re: Nabewerking mislukt

Yes this is by design, to avoid having multiple identically named jobs in the queue.
