Why rely on ReadyNasXtras?

Postby xtrips » June 27th, 2012, 1:25 pm

Hello,

Why do we have to rely on ReadyNasXtras ro release Sabnzbd for the ReadyNAS platform?
And I am not referring to the fact that I pay for those releases. I don't mind a bit since Sabnzbd is a great software.
No, it's just that I don't understand why I am dependent on their good will to get the new releases.
I mean. can't you do that yourself?
You do have the knowledge and the tools I guess, right?

No and no.
Add to that lack of time. Any idea how many NAS systems exist?
The fact that ReadyNasXtras can make some money with his package
should be an encouragement for him to make them. We don't begrudge him the money.

Having said that, skip 0.7.0 as we're already working in 0.7.1

In that case, I understand better now.
And BTW, as I wrote, the money is not the issue here. I would gladly have paid you for the software. The issue was the waiting.
Thanks for answering anyway.

We aren't the people you should be asking these questions of. If you want a better package for your specific hardware or specific distro of choice, go make one, or go convince someone to make one. We only ship builds for Windows, OSX and python source. Everything else is third-party contrib.
