Looking for new NAS drive

Post by rmilyard »

Hello guys. I am new to forums but I am looking to replace my Lenovo IX4-300d NAS drive. I have it hacked running Sabnzbd, Sick Beard and Couchpotatoe. I love having this NAS pretty much as a standalone unit. However I am finding the more I use it the slow it is. Seems to lock up when working on bigger files. I am looking at into replacing it with something better. I think I would just use the drives from the unit which are just 4 1tb drives for now. Can you guys suggest a diskless unit to replace this that would be better?

Considering the experiences here in the forum: if you need download and unpack speed, use a NAS with an Intel CPU (Atom or higher). Do NOT use a ARM based NAS.
