My current setup means that my university wireless connection has 20mbit/20mbit connection but my wired desktop is capped at 5mbit, so I use my wireless to download from usenet.
I've just got a crossover cable so that I have my desktop - wired 5mbit, laptop - wireless 20mbit and a crossover cable between them both that means I can download on the laptop and transfer the files to the desktop at 100mbit.
Now I've just set it up so my complete folder for downloads is a mapped network drive on the laptop that points to a folder on my desktop.
This is where my request comes in, I'm not always going to be in close enough proximity to plug my laptop into my desktop so the mapped network drive will be unavailable.
I'm not sure how sabnzbd reacts if the "complete" folder destination doesn't exist but is it possible to have either a secondary complete location or a default location that if the location within the .ini file isn't available. Save it to a local destination?
I hope you got all that lol
if not I'll try and do pictures and stuff to make it more simple.
Much thanks
- Michael

Hey,
good idea. I've thought about something similar too.
It would be nice to have a second folder so you can use network shares or external harddisks or
just different partitions without having to enter your complete location everytime the folder can't be accessed.
And like you said - this would be especially useful for laptops.

While this is not a fix, I can think of an idea for a workaround. Create two .ini files, one for the network drive, and one for the non network drive. Then make to scripts that stop sabnzbd, swap the ini files, and restart sabnzbd. Then it's as easy as clicking on an icon to change.

What luxury problems students have
Just set the "complete" directory to a local folder.
The write a little post-processing script that checks if the remote folder exists.
If it does, copy the content to the remote folder and delete the local stuff.
Check the Wiki for more info

I've read the wiki and understand how the post script should work, but neithger on my laptop nor desktop can I get the example script to execute, this is after setting the filename up in the config and starting the nzb with +script settings

seems you can ignore this, I downloaded something when the M:/ networked drive wasn't available and sabnzbd simply unpacks the files into "incomplete" anyway so it has the desired effect that I was asking for all along

Does your isp also offer usenet access? If so, you can setup static routes and be able to use both. Up until about a week ago, I had my sab setup so that it uses my cable internet for the usenet my isp provides. Then I use my wireless to campus for a paid usenet. I have a router running third party firmware by the window with a reflector acting as a wireless client. Assuming ideal circumstances, I can pull at 1.2MB/s with the cable internet, and about 2MB/s over campus wireless. Might work well for you too if you can implement it. Too bad starting a week ago, my usenet provider got blocked on campus wireless.
