DirectNZB Issues...

Hello,

I've been trying to use the ability to add an NZB via a post id from newzbin (where I do have an account with premium access), and I can't seem to get it to work via the gui or using SABnzbStatus plugin for FireFox. I've verified my account info several times (even going through copy and paste from the ini files directly into the login boxes on newzbin).

Whenever I do it, this is what my log shows:

2008-01-16 23:58:15,648::WARNING::[nzbgrab] DNZB request failed: None - None

I have also built a separate tool to do the post to get NZB's from newzbin, and the response I'm getting is a 'timeout'. Anyone know what is up with this? My account is fairly new (bout 2 weeks now), but I would think things should be worked out by now...

Any help is appreciated thanks!

There seems to be a few people with similar issues and I'm not quite sure what is up.

When you verified the information was it on
      http://www.newzbin.com
      or
      http://v3.newzbin.com

There seems to be differences in the account settings/passwords of the two for new users.

I verified with BOTH http://www.newzbin.com and http://v3.newzbin.com and am able to log into both with no issues... I also tried looking at the settings/preferences on both versions to see if there was some option I needed to 'enable' the DirectNZB service for my account...

I put in a ticket with NewzBin, it just got assigned today, but has no 'replies' yet....

I'll keep people posted with any issues they may have on their end, but I'm still up for trying other things people may have tried.

      Thanks!

Just checking: make sure you do not have quotes, '#' signs or blanks in your username and password.
      Currently SABnzbd cannot handle these.
Look in the sabnzbd.ini file to see if the password is correct.

      Side note:
The INI file handler module thinks '#' is a comment sign and quotes are removed.
This will be changed in the next release

No Quotes, #'s or anything else fancy in the password... Still awaiting a response from Newzbin with nothing yet :(

      Thanks,
      Me

      Frustrating....

      Response:

The service is fine. I don't know what to suggest I'm afraid. You can
use the page normally but not DNZB? That makes no sense :/

That doesn't help me much.. and I waited 6 days for that!

      Anyone else got any ideas?

      Thanks,
      Me

      Update!

I have 'digits' in my username: i.e. username12...

I wrote my own tool to assist with debugging, and found that when I switched to using my email address, everything works as expected.

I've pushed this information to newzbin, in hopes they may discover a bug in their service regarding my username or any username with digits....

If anyone else is having this issue, give your email address a try as your 'username' in sabnzbd+ config settings.

      Thanks,
      Me

I have digits in my username and it works fine. Although I will look further into this.

What OS are you on? And what version (Home/Pro)?
