FWIW (I do NOT know if this is related to the OP's problem, and/or just confirming what Shypike has already said)

I created a .rar file of a .nzb file with the rar 5 executable with the option "-ma5" to specify the rar5 archiving format:

When I add that .rar to the GUI of SABnzbd, I only get:

... and nothing more ... no downloading, no error. So that is a bit strange I would say.

When I create a rar4 formatted rar, SABnzbd starts downloading.

I'm not sure.
SABnzbd currently doesn't support RAR5 format for NZB files.
The OP's RAR files are accepted by SABnzbd on Windows, but not on the Syno.
In release 0.8.1 we're going to change RAR file handling.

Has this problem aready been solved?
I still have problems unpacking RAR(5?) files.

You need to install a recent version of unrar on your Syno first.
It's package creator's responsibility to add this to the package.
We don't create the packages.
