Slow connection to no connection

Post by kjetil »

Hi all. Just wondering if you'd be able to help a noob.

My SABnzbd has the download speed of 12 kb per day.
What is going on? Im on windows running newest version of SABnzbd
with no firewall on antivirus and windows firewall is allowing the connection.
My connection is meassured to 26 MB/s so that should be plenty..

This is what it says on the bottom of SABnzbd:

21 KB Today 34 KB This week 191 KB This month 191 KB Total

But in my queue one file has 294 of 1614 MB
and another file has 890 of 4881 MB

This does not fit with the numbers are above: 21 KB today and so on..

Thanks in advance for your help.

And what is the result of the download: success, or failure?

Ah, I see. Start by downloading a small file, for example 10 MB

So suddenly it managed to download a 800MB file. Or thats what I believed.. I got the error message " Download failed - Out of your server's retention?"

Upon clicking the filename within SABnzbd it tells me that: "Downloaded in 13 minutes 23 seconds at an average of 30 B/s 1010 articles were missing"

And

Size 24 KB
Status Failed

Does that mean that it gave up after downloading 24KB?

When I started the download it had like 40 missing articles.. and after 24KB 1010 were missing!

OK, next step: download onze NZB from http://binsearch.info/?q=bigrandomfile& ... 00&server= and put it into SABnzbd. Does that work?

No, it does not seem to be downloading. I have had the bigrandomfile in my queue now for 15 minutes, and its done 10kb.

"I need to correct this, it has been up 30 minutes now, and suddenly it had 30MB. but it seems to have stopped again. This is weird because the history tells me this: 13 KB Today 126 KB This week 283 KB This month 283 KB Total"

Which newsserver are you using?
If you use another NZB-download program (grabit? nntpgrab? nzbget?) what speeds do you get?

I use smackdownonyou.com I used nzbget not to long ago, and then it was downloading at 20MB per second.

20 MB per second?! Then I would keep using NZBget.

The point is more that I have allready payed for smackdownonyou.com. I guess I bought in to the hype that it has taken over as the best one since NZBmatrix. Now the bigrandomfile download finished. Apparently, even though it was showing progress it only downloaded 8KB.. This is what I got:

Completed 2013-05-22 10:54:41
Name bigrandomfile - Download failed - Out of your server's retention?
Size 8 KB
Status Failed
Category *
Path C:\Users\NorFX\Documents\Downloads\incomplete\bigrandomfile
Download Downloaded in 3 minutes 45 seconds at an average of 38 B/s
361 articles were missing
Source bigrandomfile.nzb
Failure Download failed - Out of your server's retention?

Wait: smackdownonyou.com doesn't look like a newsserver provider, but like NZB index system.

So: which newsserver do you use. You can check it in SABnzbd under Config -> Servers

There in lies the issue then. I have been looking at smackdown as a provider.
I followed the instructions from smackdown to setup SABnzbd, but never thought that it wasnt a provider

First things first: you say you can download with NZBget (at 20 MB/s) ... so you must have filled out a newsserver in NZBget ... what is that newsserver?
