I am in Austin with TWC and this is happening to me as well. Sometimes the speed is fantastic 35MBs....sometimes it slows down and completely stops for periods of time. This seems to happen when I download many things one after another in SABnZBD. The thing is, when my SAB speed slows down or stops, I can still download at super fast speeds from other places. I have done online speed tests as well showing that I have access to the full bandwidth I am paying for. Only SAB downloads are affected.

I have only had TWC for a few weeks and I never had any issues before switching to them. Before that I was on ATT Uverse. The connection to ATT was much slower than TWC, but it was extremely stable. I got the same speed all the time. The only thing that changed here is my provider, and the speed at which I am downloading.

So, either TWC sees how much bandwidth I am taking and somehow throttles only the traffic going to SAB, or I am downloading so fast that the servers on the other end...somewhere in the cloud...are killing my connection because it is too fast to handle.

Anyone else have any ideas?

@TWC-users:

I've once written a speed randomizer script that circumvented usenet throttling. If you're on Linux or you can run Python, let me know and I could rewrite the script for you.
