Lower the numbers of connections to 3 per newsserver. The 25 threads to us-secure.maximumusenet.com are not going to improve anything.

"Failed to connect: (10038, 'Socket operation on non-socket') [email protected]:563" has been seen before, but I don't know the cause or solution.

Can you fill out as newsservers:

Code: Select all

newszilla6.xs4all.nl
weathergirl-ipv6.tele2.net
Each with 3 connections.
Download something that is not older than 6 days.

I've sent you a PM.

And because of "yes, my internet provider(Kabel Deutschland) only gives out ipv6 adresses and combines many customers to one ipv4":

on Debian, can you run

Code: Select all

mtr -nrc2 8.8.8.8
mtr -nrc2 ipv6.google.com
on Windows, can you run

Code: Select all

tracert 8.8.8.8
tracert ipv6.google.com
and post the output here? I want to see if you have double NAT / Carrier Grade NAT, and if IPv6 is working.

So your Windows system does have IPv6 connectivity. But your Windows says "Server quit during login sequence" when SABnzbd tries newszilla6.xs4all.nl and weathergirl-ipv6.tele2.net? Port 119 is good, and do not fill out a username/password.

I downloaded from the plain europe.maximumusenet.com with your account. Result: "Downloaded in 1 min 36 seconds at an average of 10.6 MB/s", so 100 Mbps (which is the limit of the Fast Ethernet interface in my laptop). So europe.maximumusenet.com is behaving very well.

So it must be something between your computer and europe.maximumusenet.com. Possibilities:
- Kabel Deutschland throttling all known newsservers, but it forgot UsenetBucket. However, you say that altbinz is fast on all different servers, right?
--- maybe KD throttling does not recognize altbinz' traffic ... ?
- Wifi. I hope you're not using Wifi to download?

FWIW: your IPv4 mtr shows you have a normal IPv4 connection, and no Carrier Grade NAT / IPv4-address sharing, otherwise I would expect a 100.64.0.0/10 address in your IPV4 mtr. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrier-gr ... ress_space

i tested the server on my nas (omv/debian).
this time i tried windows and connection is succesfull and i get 1 MB/s from both servers combined which looks fine.
AltBinz gets full speed on all servers.
i'm not using wifi. my setup is as follows:
Internet -> Cable Router -> 8port 1Gbit switch -> Windows PC and OMV/Debian NAS

And what is your linespeed? What does http://www.speedtest.net/ tell you?

You do know 1 MB/s (as reported by SABnzbd) is 10 Mbps, right? Bytes versus bits...

i know, i have 100 mbit linespeed. altbinz downloads with 11 MBYTE/s or ~90 MBit/s. i get 10 MByte/s from usenetbucket with sabnzbd

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4350606210
it's evening here so linespeed is not exactly 100 mbit as you see but still way faster than the downloadspeed i (sometimes) get from sabnzbd

KDG ports are connected via Dual Stack Lite ( DS - Lite ) , the supplier told heise online . In this process, the Internet connection has only one globally routable IPv6 address . Depending on the device KDG distributed either a / 64 or / 56 prefix . Dual - Stack Lite is for IPv4 connections but on carrier-grade NAT : The router customers receive only private IPv4 addresses and IPv4 transport outbound connections over IPv6 tunnel to a carrier-grade NAT server at the provider . The server realizes the address translation between private and public addresses ( Network Address Translation ) and passes the packets to the Internet.
(sorry for this crude translation ^^)

This is the same that KDG support told me when i asked about another matter 6 months ago, so i would say i have a carrier-grade NAT

(Ich kann Deutsch lesen ;-) )

DS-Lite? Ah: DS-Lite uses NAT464. The path betwen your CPE-NAT and the CGN-NAT is then IPv6, and invisible in a IPv4-traceroute. That is indeed compliant with what you show. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv6_trans ... DS-Lite.29 for more information.

Hmmm. My advice would be to keep the number of newsserver settings low (3), and start with just one newsserver. Maybe the CGN does not like too much connections and breaks them.

i think i'll phone my isp tomorrow and ask about their business options. It looks as if these options don't use dslite and i've had more problems than this with dslite. I'll report back when i'm on the new connection and tell you if the problem persists. if you want you can pm me about the dognzb invite, because you really helped me figure out the problem(at least i hope that this is the problem :D ).

Before you switch to business options: could you try setting up a VPN to a VPN-provider? If so:
- measure the speed through the VPN with speedtest.net
- if it high enough, start SABnzbd

I'm assuming setting up a VPN on Windows is easier than on Debian/OMV

i've got good and bad news:

i've ordered the business plan (thinking it would take 2 weeks or something) and today the new router arrived. i haven't been home and my flatmate had it allready installed by the time i arrived home.

The good news is: everything works now

The bad news is: i can't test more stuff in order to get to the core of thr problem.

there are 2 possiblities whhat caused my problems.

1. I'm no longer on Dual Stack Lite (Carrier-grade NAT). I have Dual Stack now, so i have a native ipv4 and ipv6.

2. With this new plan came a new Router. The old one was a Hitron-CVE30360 and now i have a FritzBox 6490. I can't use the old router with the new plan, so i can't test it out.

I'm sorry sander we can't investigate the problem some more in order to fix this problem in sabnzbd for good (in case other people have a similar setup). Thank you really much for finding the problem!

PS: if you want you can close this topic

TL'DR: Problem is DS Lite from the Provider Kabel Deutschland. My Solution was to switch to their business plan and get real Dual Stack with a native ipv4.

Good that it works now.

And great of Kabel Deutschland they provide IPv6.
