Download speeds slows down for no reason

Postby BEViking » August 19th, 2012, 5:17 pm

So, when i'm downloading something i'm at 5-6 MB/s, and if i chose the "force" option the download speed jumps up to 12 MB/s, then it dwindles down to 5-6 MB/s again.
Tried different amount of connecetions but still the same problem.
If i download the same thing in Newsleecher for an example i'm at a steady +12 MB/s.

Any suggestions on how to fix it? What info do you need from meE?

Version: 0.7.3
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bits
Astraweb connection through SSL with port 563

If i "spam" force instead of normal, changing back and fourth the speed stays constant at +12 MB/s.
But if i just leave it at force it drops to 6 MB/s. Sure, that's kind of fast too but takes a long time to download HD-movies.

Your tip in that thread worked.
"Try setting random_server_ip off in Config->Special.
Restart after that."

Blasting away at 11.5 MB/s without having to force the downloads.
Hopefully it'll stick.

Thanks!

It may be a coincidence.
0.7.3 already disables this option.
The old option was called "random_server_ip",
the new one is "randomize_server_ip" and is off by default.
