I can confirm I have this same issue. I tested the same .nzb for Cult. The problem seems to be the different filenames gives Sabnzbd problems so it's not able to unpack them.

I also hit this problem with tv series, "The Fall" Season 1, E1-E5 and also "The Borgias" Season 3, E01-E10.. So far, neither series appear to be encryption related, although I've only checked on a few (3) eps of The FAll.. They each produced 3 PAR2 files with missing blocks showing via a manual Quickpar runs against each.

I ran Quickpar against The Fall, S01E05 and E03 and they both showed an SFV file as being the 1 missing block, but WinRar ran fine against the main RAR file and produced the MKV file.. The Subs had a diff par2 and that produced a SUB file with another RAR which contained the IDX file. Didnt bother with the Sample.. I've seen this embedded RAR files being used before, so I assume it gets handled okay (when it works.)

On the E4 eps, the missing blocks error (via manual Quickpar) showed 114 missing blocks for the sample par2. The main and subs par2s checked out fine manually and Winrar ran against these okay.

Extracted below shows warning:
WARNING:: Paused job "The.Fall.S01E05.720p.BluRay.x264-ROVERS" because of encrypted RAR file
WARNING:: Paused job "The.Borgias.S03E10.720p.BluRay.x264-DEMAND" because of encrypted RAR file

Hope this helps..
Rick

Update: I just manually processed all the failed episodes and none of them were encryption problems. Most of the failures were via Quickpar failing on Samples pars with missing blocks. A few were from the Subs pars with 1 missing block for the sfv files. All episodes were successfully unpacked via WinRar manually.. FYI.. Rick

Edit: I should mention I'm running on Win7 with 7.14.. Rick

Edit: When I was cleaning up the paused entries after manually processing the incompletes, I clicked on one of the entries and it showed the sample mkv file, so I selected it and then deleted it. Went back to the home page and unpaused it. It then ran to a successful competion. Wish I had found this out earlier as it would have saved me considerable time. Hope this helps someone else out.. FYI.. Rick

Im running into alot of what i hope are "false" encryption hits. Could you elaborate on what you're doing to manually process them? Are you going to the folder (incomplete and/or complete) and then running some command line utilities? Or are you somehow re-injecting the job back into SABnzbd

All I get is: "Aborted, encryption detected", status: FAILED in the GUI.

Known problem as far as wrong detection is concerned.
The latter is because you chose to abort instead of pause such a job (see Config->Switches).

So I understand what abort does, but if I pause it what would that do, just let it sit there? Would that fix the problem?

Abort sends the job to History as a failed job.
Pause lets it sit in the download queue until you decide what to do.

So, I am running Sab 0.7.20 and I have the same problem, "Encrypted / The 100 S03E01 blah blah blah, but I did not pause the download, SabNZB did. Are there passwords that must be entered in order to get past this point. I have a bunch of files that are just sitting there and I have no clue how to proceed. Can somebody please enlighten me. Nothing that was said here so far makes any sense to me.

In Config->Switches you can tell SABnzbd what to do with encrypted posts.
For encrypted posts you indeed need to have a password.
If you don't know how to get those, you might as well delete the jobs.
Usually passwords are distributed through specific NZB indexers and other tracking sites.

Ok thanks Shypike. The thing is some files from the same source and series are not encrypted and some are. I wonder why someone would encrypt some files but not all. It doesn't make sense. There must be a work around.

It does makes sense.
