Random program unpacking and deleting

Post by will1881 »

Not sure how this happened or what I may have done.
Was downloading a movie, it started then unpacking random files in my folders and then deleting them.
It unpacked the movie successfully, but it unpacked and deleted a whole bunch of random program files I had saved.
Not sure why or how it did that.
The movie was set to unpack in drive D. and then according to the logs, i can see it poking around in several other folders and unpacking anything with a zip or rar file and then deleting the original file leaving me with random system/application files all over the place.

This is probably a combination of sending files to a single folder (which already contains all sorts of data)
and SABnzbd's recursive unpacking.
Sending your downloads to a generic destination is not recommended for that reason.
You can prevent most of this problem by disabling recursive unpacking by setting Config->Special->enable_recursive to 0.
