Failed login for server X

Post by leecher3k »

Hi there,

first of all, thank you for your awesome software.

today i experienced a strange problem. i could not download anything from usenet and sabnzd told me "Failed login for server ...:563".
Furthermore the log stated that sabnzd will ignore my isp for 10 min.

so i checked with alt.binz if this problem is caused by sab or my provider. turns out that alt.binz dl worked (did not repair and unpack... and is not open source :S).

is there something i did wrong or i can check for a solution?

so far i tried restarting sabnzbd and repopulating the queue. nothing worked so far

OS: Windows 8.1

thanks for reading!

Try an alternative port like 443.
I remember some complaints about one Usenet provider that
had an issue with 563.

thanks for the fast reply.

i will try port 443 for sab but i doubt that the provider is the reason because i used port 563 with alt.binz before to test it.

edit: i use eweka. is this the provider having trouble with 563 you mentioned before?

edit2: 443 returns the same error: "Failed login for server newsreader64.eweka.nl:443"

I assume you combine port 443 (or 563) with the SSL option? (You should).
Can you also try port 119 and no SSL?

yeah ofc i did.

i will try the non ssl port now. (but this wont be a solution for me because encryption is important to me).

same error: "Failed login for server newsreader64.eweka.nl:119"

:S maybe i should do a complete reinstall.

A re-install hardly ever helps.
Please check the sabnzbd.ini file for the correct user accounts and passwords.
The file is quite readable with Notepad.

If you want to "reset", remove the sabnzbd.ini file
