Dear Community
When using windows I have to limit the lenght of the foldername. Unfortunately this means that nzb files which contain the password in brackets are added without the password as it is often at the end of the name and therefore cut off.
Would it be possible to change sabnzbds behaviour to watch for a password in the filename/downloadname befor shortening the name?
Thanks in advance

With 0.7.18, I cannot reproduce the problem.
How exactly do you get NZB files into SABnzbd?

Re: Passwords not automatically added when pathname is short
via rss feed
It works when uploading an nzb
Just asking
Is it possible to switch to a python version on windows? So i could use git for updating. I wanted to switch to the python version but it complains that no c compiled version of cheetahs namemapper is available.$
Also is there an export function for all settings?

Re: Passwords not automatically added when pathname is short
RSS feeds don't support embedded passwords, at least not as intended.
Creating binaries for Windows is not easy, it requires obsolete Microsoft compilers.
For 0.8.0 we'll switch over to the latest 2.7 release.

Re: Passwords not automatically added when pathname is short
Could you please add the feature? It is working when no foldder path shortening is deactivated. So It should be possible.
I have no programming skills. But you already had this problem with passwords when importing an nzb file. Isn't this basically the same?
It is loading the nzb from the adress given from the feed?
Furthermore the passwords are cut off when adding a zip file containing the nzbs. Where as they are not cut off when adding the nzbs one by one.
Can this be fixed?
And as I already said. It works perfectly and the passwords are added when no folder shortening is active. The RSS Feed adds the name including the password and sabnzbd supports it.
But I can't deactivate max folder path on windows? no file would be able to unrar because of the long folder names.

Re: Passwords not automatically added when pathname is short
Are there indexers that embed passwords in their file names?
If so, please name an example.

Re: Passwords not automatically added when pathname is short
OK, nice.
I will look into this.
Can you PM me a link for a file with an embedded password?
That would be the link from the RSS feed.
SABnzbd should show that in the download report afterwards (click on item in History).

Re: Passwords not automatically added when pathname is short
So just asking...
Do you still need an rss feed with embeded passwords?
I would organize one for you for testing.
I really thank you for looking for a solution.
how frequently are new releases published? How often do I have to look for a new version?

Re: Passwords not automatically added when pathname is short
I think I have it nailed.
Expect the 0.7.19RC@ release this weekend.
I would appreciate feedback from that release.
