I can't but wonder how long my v6 tunnel provider will last before they will block access or at least cap the speed to this host (currently around 45 mbit/s )

Yep, I wonder too, but an IPv6 provider capping it's IPv6 traffic becuause IPv6 usage is too succesful ... that will be the day that IPv6 will have found a reason-for-existence and become a success. And that's the ultimate goal.

Until that time I think IPv6-providers are happy that we news-leechers have found a good usage for IPv6 ;-)

Holy crap guys, once I got ipv6 up and running, I've now got all these servers enabled alongside my isp's server and am pulling down 374 kb/s for free!!!

Maybe it's a good idea to tell how we get our IPv6 connectivty?

On my Ubuntu Linux, it was just a matter of "sudo apt-get install tspc" and the "sudo tspc -vvv". That's all. Works behind all kinds of NATs. It used Hexago. Speed is limited, ping6-time is not great (200-300 ms to European servers) and therefore speed is limited

With IPv4 I get "Download speed: 2049.82 KB/s" (which is line speed of my 20 Mbps DSL-connection) versus IPv6's "Download speed: 58.07 KB/s". So that's not impressive.

1100 kBps = 11 Mbps on a line with 11 Mbps access speed. I'll also test on my 20 Mbps line and let you know.

Any chance you can give us some insight as to the setup and config needed for aiccu for linux I have signed up and been accepted for an account over on sixxs what steps did you need to do to create the tunnel? and what type of tunnel did you use. Any insight into the config setup would be appreciated.

Have you tried  "tspc" first? It's magically easy compared to aiccu / sixxs: tspc does not require an account, and it takes care of NAT automagically.

Yes I have tspc up and working and I am pretty good with router port forwarding and such to get around the NAT don't like the idea of putting my NAS into a dmz. And like I said I already applied for and was accepted and confirmed for an account on sixxs just was looking for some insite as to which of the 3 types of tunnles I should be using and maybe some help with the config file editing that is needed. I am thinking that the proceedure is first request a tunnel from the termination ip since my IP is dynamic not static I am guessing the static tunnel would not be a good choice. Like I said some insight would help I looked though the config file some but a lot of the options I was not sure about.

Well I was able to get a Sixxs tunnel setup and going and connected to news.ipv6.eweka.nl up and going at line speed on a free server what a great find. My thanks go out to everyone on this board and project this has been a great experience and its always great learning new things as well.

On my 20 Mbps line, I get about 1500 kBps = 15 Mbps, so not linespeed, but still quite impressive.

BTW: with pure IPv6 from two IPv6-only newsservers (eweka and xsnews), the download did not complete, but stopped at the last 4 MB ... strange ... . I still have the feeling that SABnzbd is at best with only one server spedified.

The xsnews server apparently requires a (free) account, see this page (alleen in het Nederlands ; sign-up requires only an email address so you should be able to manage nonetheless). Speed at xsnews is capped at 20 Mbit/s, although it takes some time for this limit to kick in. All in all, this brings my usenet download speed using only these two free ipv6 servers 55-60 Mbit/s (or 7.0-7.5 MB/s) .
