Corrupt files?

I downloaded a post with 0.30 and all of the rars were corrupt. I downloaded the exact same file with 0.27 and it was fine, no errors at all. Anyone else had the same problem?

I have a similar problem, but I'm not sure if it's caused by 0.30. I use it onder Ubuntu, and when unrarring the files a get a checksum error (somewhere in the last file usually). When testing the archive it says "No files to extract", though it mentions the filename in the rarfile when unrarring.

I've had this on .2.7 under vista, several times. Something in the program keeps a file in use, so it can't move it and unpack ( I think it may be the par2 program. I'm usually able to kill sabnzbd+ and run quickpar and unpack myself.

With me the actual files aren't downloaded properly. They're 50mb rar files, but only around 30-42mb downloads. If anyone wants to try it out the NZB file is on Newzbin ID: 2720601

I tried the above , and I can confirm that this happened to me also.

Maybe this post is just somehow corrupted ?

What happens when you download the .nzb from for example binsearch ?

Not that I want to deny any SABnzbd influence without thinking,
but do you realize that this post is 88 days old?
I cannot even test this with my Usenet provider.

Retry a few suspect RAR's with another program (like Grabit).

That NZB downloads fine with 0.27 though, it's only with 0.30 it downloads wrong.

            Do you use fillservers?
Do you download it in one go, or is sabnzbd closed mid download?

No I don't use fill servers. 0.30 doesn't crash or anything. Just doesn't download the files properly

Also it has happened to some other downloads I've had. That is why I've reverted back to 0.27

Are there any warnings in the logfile, like "article missing from server"?
If you still have the logfile, could you scan for warnings?

Otherwise it's very difficult to diagnose these kinds of problems.

      Before I forget.
Do you have the article cache enabled in 0.3.0?
We have (at least we hope we have) solved a problem in that area.

Please zip it and email it to me (shypike at users dot sourceforge dot com).
SourceForge cannot handle very large messages.

Sending the e-mail right now. I managed to remotely login to my server. <3 for RemotelyAnywhere!

Looking at the log file it seems that the downloaded files are stored on the C:/. My C:/ is running very low. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I will try and run 0.3 tonight, without installing it from just a folder and see how it goes.

      Hi

I have the same problem with RC 0.3 on my NAS drive. I was thinking it was the posts because it was 65 days old. I then used GRABIT and the same news service but the files came down complete.

Using RC 0.3 and then running quickpar it said all files were incomplete and could repair them.

I'll go back to 2.7 and see if this problems goes away.

Tested Release 0.3 final with Newzbin ID: 2720601 and its corrupt.

Deleted everything, cache, install directory everything.

Re-installed with Release 0.3 RC4 and used Newzbin ID: 2720601 but this time works lovely.

This is using europe.news.astraweb.com as my news provider and the same was used for both tests. So something isnt right with the final release.

I have seen this 3 times now. I'll try and get the other IDs from Newsbin, but first I was thinking it was the age of the post. But now using an older release of SABnzb it working again without any corruption. Every file is corrupt and PAR cant fix them all because it doesnt have enough.

Thanks for this specific case, at least I now have something concrete to search for.
I would like you to answer a few extra questions.
            What OS do you use?
            What Firewall software?
            Linespeed?
Do you have set a "Article Cache Limit" and if so what value? (this is in Config->General).

You would really help me out of you zipped the log-files and emailed them to:
            bugs AT sabnzbd DOT org

Its a NAS drive running linux

I use my linksys router for a firewall, everything is block inbound apart from port 8080

      My linespeed is 4mb

My article cache limit is set to 0

I will find the log files for you

Well, several of us have downloaded this job with 0.3.0Final. No problems.
I even used AstraWeb without problems (although it has more missing articles).
With article-cache on, Final is better than RC4. Without, there is no difference.
      All on Windows, though.

Maybe it has to do with the NAS platform. We haven't got a clue at the moment.
We're looking for some other rare issues that may be related to this,
so we have not given up yet.

We would be helped by NZB's and especially logfiles (level 2).
Zip 'm and send 'm to bugsATSIGNsabnzbdDOTSIGNorg

how do you turn cache on?

Set it to 0 or 1?

You tell it how much memory it can use, eg 10M or 1G.
On a NAS keep it to 0 or low. If it causes memory swapping, it's counterproductive.
      It's in Config->General.

I'm one of the guys that reported the problem with very high speed connections (just for reference) :P

Anyway, I can confirm that there's something strange happening. I cannot reproduce it easily but it already happened to me twice. In both times, using Grabit showed that there was no problem with the nzb files or the server. But, when using SABnzbd+, it kept giving errors. Unfortunately, I cannot give a detailed report, since it's very random. In lose terms: I tried to download a nzb and it gave an error about not being able to repair it. No problem, I thought. I just had to try another post. I tried several other nzbs (with similar names in newzbin) and all kept failing. I even cleaned the cache, history, etc. But it kept doing it. I tried other unrelated nzbs and they all finished correctly.

This report is not really helpful. It's mainly a heads up for the problem. If if happens again, I'll gladly report it again and will have the log files and everything you may need ready. It's not very serious since it only happened twice.

Thanks for your work. I'll see you in the new forum from now on.
