Firewall Software: None
Are you using IPV6? nope
Is the issue reproducible? yes
System I am using has Intel i3 540 @ 3.07 GHz
3 gigs of Ram
I need a little help troubleshoot a speed issue, I have recently switched ISPs but the issue started before I switched.
I used to get 13-14 MBs download speeds from UNS but a couple months ago all I can get is 6-7 MBs, I didn't change anything.
I have Google Fiber now and I still get the same 6-7 MBs, I was hoping to melt some Ethernet cables but they aint even getting warm
Any ideas? I will try just about anything, Thanks!

Re: Slow Download speeds
Not sure what's happening here.
You can try a full queue repair from the Status page.
You can also use an alternative Usenet client to check the speed.

Re: Slow Download speeds
I tried a different client on a different computer and got 30MBsec so it looks like I have a problem on my SABnzb box, If I were to reformat it is there a way to backup sab settings?
Re: Slow Download speeds
Other than the queue, everything important is in sabnzbd.ini

I'm in a similar situation
I have a 100MB downlink with Comcast and a Asus G75vw, and i can't get over 2.5Mb for some reason.

Yes, it is currently running on the G75.shypike wrote:On which system is SABnzbd running ?

Re: Slow Download speeds
SABnzbd is both CPU and memory hungry.
If you have enough memory, set an article cache in Config->General
and don't overdo it with the number of connections per server (below 12).

Re: Slow Download speeds
You're mixing things up: you have a 100 (or 120) Mbps link (small b), and SAB is reporting in MB (capital B) so 2.5 MB/s, which is 25 Mbps.mike929 wrote:Asus G75vw, and i can't get over 2.5Mb for some reason.mike929 wrote:Hello, did you ever get this resolved?

Article size is set to 200M and has been. Still slow.shypike wrote:SABnzbd is both CPU and memory hungry.

Just downloaded a 3.5Gb file
Downloaded in 4 minutes 41 seconds at an average of 12.6 MB/s
I'm wondering if Comcast is throttling my bandwidth in the evening???

Re: Slow Download speeds
My first post. You folks have been a great source of knowledge. I hope I can give something back as well.
The setup: SabNZBd 0.7.16, Windows Server 2008 R2, 8GB RAM, dual Gig-E going to SonicWall TZ100 which provides the WAN to the cable modem. Giganews Silver member. NZB addiction fed through NZBGeeks VIG.
RE: slow downloads - I am a Time Warner customer with a 30/2 cable internet subscription. About a month or so ago, my Giganews downloads went from maxing out the bandwidth to going no higher than 700-1000Kbps. I did some research tonight and tried a couple of different things.
I pulled some hair out along the way, but here is what worked:
I added a second server - news-europe.giganews.com - and split the total number of possible connections between it and my default (10 each - Giganews Silver Plan has 20 connections). See below:
(the first server was actually set to 10, but I forgot to change it before the snap)
I then selected Force Disconnect and then Restart Server.
I had a few queue items on pause. I resumed download. The downloads picked up at the right spot, and I'm now pulling around the full 30.
Good luck!

Re: Slow Download speeds
Thanks for the suggestion Jumpup.
I have just made similar configurations as yours.
Note - i had to modify the sabnzdb.ini file inorder to get both servers to show up. When I did it via the interface it test fine and save but if you let or refreshed the newly added server would not show up. I am on supernews and total connections are 30 so I split that 15/15 to both server configs.
I'll see how this holds up over the next few days.
I am wondering though if Comcast is throttling my connection in the evening or is supernews getting hammered that badly????
