rembo: Does "Headphones" can Automatically Import song to iTunes when download is complete ? I just get a iTunes Match account and would like to automatically download albums that will be automatically imported into iTunes (and then be available on all our stuff here 2 x iphones, ipad, imac and Macbook Air that all use the iTunes match).

Thank you, great software !

Yes you can if you want to simply have itunes do the postprocessing have the files download into a temp directory/download directory but set the itunes "automatically add to itunes" folder as the "move files to this directory" location (unchecking all the other post processing options such as rename files, correct metadata etc..

If you want headphones to do the postprocessing just turn on the bits you want it to do (but still point it at the automatically add to itunes folder)

Is there a way to point Headphones to a Musicbrainz mirror? I've been running into a lot of timeout/failures with musicbrainz due to their throttling. I just setup a mirror and I'd like to point headphones at it. I can't find the appropriate reference to the musicbrainz server in any of the application files. All I found is the portion where it presents the href link in the web page to musicbrainz for the artist.

Thanks in advance!

I've modified the host name in webservice.py (lib/), compiled it, and it is still making connections to stimpy.musicbrainz.org. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to get this to move my files properly. I renames the files, and cleans up stuff nice, but won't move it into my library. I have my directory temporarily setup like this:

Downloads go:
/USB/Music/
Library is:
/USB/Music/Joseph/
File structure is:
/USB/Music/Joseph/<Artist>/<Album><Year>/<Tracks>

Whenever Headphones processes the downloaded album I end up with this:
/USB/Music/<Artist> - <Album> <Year>/<Tracks>
It's not moving it into my library in "Joseph" and is not making the album a sub directory of the artist. My current settings are:
Music Download Dir: /USB/Music/
Path to Destination folder: /USB/Music/Joseph/
Folder Format: artist/album [year]

To me that sounds like it should move from the download dir (Music) to the library (Joseph) with the file structure of <Artist>/<Album>. What am I missing? Thanks.

MusicBrainz is currently blocking api requests from headphones, so it's pretty much broken for everyone at the moment.

Hi, is there anyway to get around this? I just started using sabnzbd yesterday - this was a major reason yikes.

I'm having a lot of issues with getting info from MusicBrainz at the moment, it seems to only grab a few of the CDs for an artist/musician. I keep seeing errors along these lines "Attempt to retrieve information from MusicBrainz for release group "blablabla" failed. Sleeping 5 seconds" in the log.

Is there any update? I asume my issues are due to Musicbrainz blocking headphones?

Why isn't headhpones using other sources for scraping music information? Last.fm comes to mind but also allmusic.com, musicinformationdatabase.com and discogs.com but there are more.

I've added a few fixes in there already basically to limit the amount of requests headphones makes to musicbrainz. Unfortunately people running the older versions are still hitting the servers quite a bit so until more people update, we'll keep seeing the 503 error. Hopefully only a few more days

I might just ask them to block all requests coming from the old user agent so the people who have updated will be able to use the program again.

Longer term though, I'm working on some better solutions, and if there are any perl hackers that want to help with the musicbrainz rss feed, head on over to #musicbrainz-devel on freenode

Gee, it'd be *great* if this issue got solved! Being new to headphones over the last week, it's disappointing that I can't even get the artists' discographies to successfully populate. ???

I found this in the xbmc forums, for setting up headphones. It works for me!

MusicBrainz has done some changes to their scraping policies, and we're now forced to connect to other servers. This is how you correct this.
1. Find the Headphones Directory. It can be placed under for example "C:\Program Files(x86)HeadPhones"
2. Browse to the folder "\lib\musicbrainz\
3. Edit the file "webservice.py"
4. Make sure you use a program that does not remove the formating of the file. Like Notepad ++
5. Search for the class "WebService(IWebService)"
6. A few lines under this, you'll see host= and port= on the same line.
7. Replace the content with host='tbueter.com' and port=3000
8. Go to Settings and select Restart

On the Mac-end at least, the folder was \lib\musicbrainz2

But other than that anomaly, it worked great - thanks!!! Awesome! ;D :D
