What is the difference between these 2 projects ?
Is the software also different ?

Or is it named plus out of respect for all the work tdian ?
Can't you ask tdian if you can use his project page ?

Not complaining , but just wondering , as a lot of people know sabnzbd , so would be the best to continue from that page/project

tdian says on the SABnzbd project page, that the project has become inactive.
I want to continue development of SABnzbd together with other people (pairofdimes and blis102).
I have asked tdian about taking over the project, but he has not answered any email I sent him.
So, in true open source spirit, I have created a fork.
I would rather have taken over the original SABnzbd than start a new one.

Are you sure tdian set it as inactive, and not simply that he hasn't logged in for a while and as a result that sets the project as inactive?

No, I am not sure. But SourceForge sends you warnings before they shut you down.
Also the Discussion forum was gone for a day. It looks like his own actions.

tdian answered none of my emails, so what am I to conclude?
I think a "hostile takeover" of a project in SourceForge is possible,
but I am not prepared to fight over this with tdian.
I would rather work with him than against him.
