Slow download from container install

Hello,

I am having issues with slow download from my SABnzbd install.

This is a docker install on OMV via Portainer.

I have recently upgraded my internet connection to 1000/50.

The download seems to peak around 40MB/s, but is often much lower.

My settings are:
Used cache 0 B (0 articles)
System load 0.00 | 0.00 | 0.00 | V=158M R=91M
System performance (Pystone) 206071 Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3240 CPU @ 3.40GHz AVX
Download folder speed 184.3 MB/s /ssd_downloads/incomplete
Complete folder speed 39.4 MB/s /downloads/complete
Internet Bandwidth 108.8 MB/s 870.4 Mbps

I have tried changing the complete folder to the SSD but didn't make any difference.

I have seen other posts on here, but nothing specifically for docker/portainer installs.

Any help on increasing the speed would be greatly appreciated.

SABnzbd container setups cause slow-downs. Especially proxmox is infamous for that.

But your performance numbers look OK. Maybe your setup allows peak loads (=performance measurements), but limits continuous loads (=real download)?

So can you do this:
set Complete to the /ssd_downloads/
Do the 10GB test download
Then post the performance numbers again, including a possible line "Download speed limited by"

And read https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/advanced/highspeed-downloading if there is anything extra useful?

OH: do you have a PC/Mac with plain OS and plain SABnzbd where you can do the same 10GB test download? What is the speed there? We want to rule out things outside your own LAN.

His Complete Folder is somehow capped at 40MB/s, that's kind of strange though... Don't have a good suggestion for it.
Sometimes people at r/usenet at Reddit have some tips since some of them run the same setup.

Have changed the complete folder and run the 10GB test
Connection still maxed out at around 41MB/s

Performance numbers below:
Used cache 0 B (0 articles)
System load 0.18 | 0.12 | 0.19 | V=164M R=98M
System performance (Pystone) 183562 Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3240 CPU @ 3.40GHz AVX
Download folder speed 174.5 MB/s /ssd_downloads/incomplete
Complete folder speed 175.4 MB/s /ssd_downloads/complete
Internet Bandwidth 110.9 MB/s 887.2 Mbps

I did have a look at that link previously, but couldn't find anything that made a difference.

Will install SABnzbd onto my Windows PC and see if I get the same speed.
