Because I'm an idiot... who should have looked at the program features more carefully. 

I use Windows Scheduled Tasks to shutdown the PC. Using SABnzbd you can see (in Firefox's tab at least) how long the downloads will take. It's then a simple matter to create (or update an existing inactive) scheduled task to shutdown the PC.
