I think I narrowed down the problem. I specified the ini with -f but I should have specified the folder it was in.

I have sabnzbd set up in /usr/lib/sabnzbd and have set my log_dir in sabnzbd.ini (which is in /usr/lib/sabnzbd too) to be /var/log/sabnzbd which is 775 sabnzbd:sabnzbd. My main problem is that when I add some prints to see what log_dir is set to it still says "/usr/lib/sabnzbd/logs" which ...
