Re: SABnzbd Seedbox & Laptop - Minor Issues/Errors?
Direct Unpack is relatively new, we do a disk speed test before enabling it to see if your disks are fast enough. So we don't auto enable it on a raspberry pi system. Hmm, that is curious, because Direct Unpack has never been automatically enabled for my Desktop/Laptop SABnzbd clients and my deskto...

SABnzbd Seedbox & Laptop - Minor Issues/Errors?
So I'm using SABnzbd version 2.3.4 for both my Seedbox and Desktop/Laptop Clients. Laptop Error: 1.) Does this mean that the download has failed? I clicked the downward arrow to check the download report and SAB said a repair was required. SAB said it repaired in "0 seconds". I was able to...

Re: Updating SABnzbd on a seedbox?
Would there be any major drawback(s) to me using 2.2.1 over 2.3.4 and having no Multicore Par2 support?
If content downloads/unrars properly on 2.2.1 and I'm unable to update to 2.3.4, I may have to settle for using version 2.2.1.

Re: Updating SABnzbd on a seedbox?
How did you install SAB on your seedbox? If you use a Ubuntu/Debian based distribution (apt/deb) then you can use our own PPA: https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/installation/install-ubuntu-repo It will auto-update and install all you need. Yeah, I was looking around at the install section before I posted. I...

Updating SABnzbd on a seedbox?
So, I use SABnzbd on my desktop version 2.3.4 My seedbox SABnzbd client is at version 2.2.1. I'd like to update it to the latest version except I'm not exactly sure how to do that. It says "Update Available! 2.3.4" when I log into my seedbox SABnzbd, but it downloads the update to my deskt...

Re: SABnzbd / Usenet / Torrents - File Size Disparity?
To know if it's the same file you need to do a md5 hash of it and see if it exactly matches. And maybe the torrent file includes some extra files? Maybe a preview? Ok, so that would involve me downloading the same file twice, correct? Then I need a piece of software to generate an MD5 hash to compa...

SABnzbd / Usenet / Torrents - File Size Disparity?
This question is only partially aimed at SABnzbd as It's the download client that I've been using. This post probably has more to do with the difference in technology between Usenet and Torrents. So, I've been trying to seed 3 videos that I downloaded from Usenet and they're all stuck in my torrent ...

Sabnzbd - Not de-obfuscating file names?
So, I thought Sab was supposed to be able to de-obfuscate file names?

Downloading single files/NFO Files/Obfuscation
-So to download single files in SAB, I first have to click on an NZB file > Hover over the file name in SAB and click the folder icon and select/de-select from there? I just tried this - wouldn't let me select an NFO file, but it *looks* like it insta-downloaded before I could pause the download. An...

Re: General File Questions / .par2 / etc.
Oh ok, so even though 7 articles were "malformed" It's likely that everything is ok because SABnzbd didn't need to repair for the reasons you outlined. (par2 files or checksum data are malformed) which won't impact the "main package"

Re: General File Questions / .par2 / etc.
A few other questions if you wouldn't mind. 1.) Why do downloads sometimes have articles missing? Was this a mistake/negligence of the uploader or is someone trying to remove the upload and they were successful in removing x number of articles? 2.) What does: "articles were malformed" mean...

Re: General File Questions / .par2 / etc.
Slightly off-topic, but if you download a video and SABnzbd says It's "Repairing" > "Repaired in 11 mins 52 seconds" etc. Is the video file guaranteed to play ok? Have you ever encountered a situation where SABnzbd said "Repaired" but video playback was damaged in some ...

Re: General File Questions / .par2 / etc.
Ok, thanks for the response. I tend to download a lot of stuff off Usenet. If I find any other irregularities should I post here for comment? How do you know they're damaged btw?

General File Questions / .par2 / etc.
1.) So I downloaded a video and usually when I do that, It's just the video file itself, but this time the file was accompanied by 10 ".vol" files with different names such as: .vol000+001 / .vol001+002 / .vol063+64 etc. a.) When I right click on them > properties, I see that these are .pa...
