Re: Enabling SSL is slowing down downloads significantly!
> I use a shared hosting provider (seedhost.eu specifically) A, a shared account? And "seed" makes me think it's a seedbox. So no VM, but sharing, and maybe limiting CPU and disk speed. Quite slow speed for an NVMe. My i3 laptop with NVMe has 558.9 MB/s, as reported by SABnzbd. And more mo...

Re: Enabling SSL is slowing down downloads significantly!
@cyxis, out of curiosity & trying to understand your statistics: Is this SABnzbd straight on OS (Linux) straight on Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 5220R? Or is there a layer like VM, VPS or docker involved? Your Internet speed is 2553.76 Mbps: is this on a home connection (XGSPON?), or something in a dat...

Re: Modify speed limit based on file age?
AFAIK sabnzbd can schedule speed based on time of day.
See Scheduler inside sab

Re: Modify speed limit based on file age?
30 Mbps, so 3 - 3.5 MB/s? Correct?
If so, that's little indeed.
What speed is acceptable for not saturating that connection?

Re: "External internet access denied" error
In some areas, Linux indeed has a steeper learning curve.
If too steep, you might consider to run Windows on the VM

Re: "External internet access denied" error
Valid questions, but regular questions "how to set up on Ubuntu Linux", for which there are guides. For example https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/installation/i ... buntu-repo

Re: "External internet access denied" error
Good. Start from fresh. So: stop sabnzbd. Check and recheck it's not running find and rename all sabnzbd.ini files start SAB like this: sabnzbdplus -s 0.0.0.0:8080 -b0 -l2 --inet_exposure 4 access it again, and make sure you get the wizard. If no wizard: go back to step 1 Fill out the wizard with yo...

Re: "External internet access denied" error
Yep: the snap is still running, and probably restarting after you kill.
Google-hit:
sudo snap disable vlc
so
sudo snap disable sabnzbd
or
sudo snap disable sabnzbdplus
then verify again.
And if that fails: uninstall the sabnzbd snap, reboot, and verify again.

Re: "External internet access denied" error
I would do: back to a fresh config. 1. make sure sabnzbd is not running in any form. Check and recheck! 2. start sabnzbdplus like this: cd sabnzbdplus -s 0.0.0.0:8080 -b0 -l2 --inet_exposure 4 -f blabla$$.ini 3. you should all kind of output. If you do NOT see output, there is still a SAB running, s...

Re: Access denied error
Even then, accessing via 192.168.... should be doable, AFAIK.
