But if the mkv renamed correctly on your end, that means something is wrong on my end, any idea what that could be?

That's interesting, because prior to the update, every movie was renamed without a problem. Now, none are. I'm a dummy  I didn't realize that it was downloading to my folder, I was waiting to have it install automatically! Sorry about that...my only wish is that safari had a download progress bar vs. the download window. Anyways I'll test it out now, thank you!
