Re: Big NZBs make for slow/spikey downloads
I have found the problem. I have never looked at python source code before, so some of this may sound funny since I don't speak python lingo. The spikes are caused by the nzo saves in the cache - it appears to grab a lock and all of the download threads pause while the nzo is saved. On my system, w...

Re: Simultaneous downloads?
I would like to point out that some of the major news providers appear to be using a near-line storage system for older postings. Re: Big NZBs make for slow/spikey downloads
Last question: How is the option "Only get articles for top of the queue" in Config->Switches set? Setting it "off" is more likely to cause such problems. I've tried it both ways, it does not seem to make a significant difference. Can you email me an example of a troublesome NZB...

Big NZBs make for slow/spikey downloads
I regularly use individual nzb files for 20GB-50GB downloads. I use sabnzbd on ubuntu 9.04 (64-bit) and 8.10 (32-bit). I've tried both 0.4.8 and 0.4.11. With these large nzb files sabnzdb likes to periodically chew up cpu and I've noticed that when it has the cpu pegged at 100% actual transfer rate ...
