Variables for notification scripts

Is it possible to pass SABnzbd variable as parameters for notification scripts?

I'd like to be able to pass information like "category" to the script I have written.

Re: Error - Cannot reach the SABHelper service

Well, if the changes were to fix issues in later versions of Windows, shouldn't they only be applied to them?

Previous versions of SABnzbd were fine, and as it stands I won't be able to upgrade to a newer Windows build until Server 2019 is released later this year.

Re: Error - Cannot reach the SABHelper service

I don't have Windows Server so I can't reproduce.. But you say you still get the error on startup? Only if I use the domain account for both services. If I switch the helper back to "local system" as it was before then I get the message at start-up. I've also discovered that either way, "local syst...

Re: Error - Cannot reach the SABHelper service

Hmmm, spoke too soon, the helper service can no longer restart the service, the log in debug mode shows it stops the service which I confirm, but the request for a restart never finishes: 2018-06-11 17:13:15,848::INFO::[__init__:772] [SABnzbd.pyo.main] Performing SABnzbd shutdown 2018-06-11 17:13:15...

Re: Error - Cannot reach the SABHelper service

Just wanted to add that with my Windows Server 2016 the same thing happened and I got the error with 2.3.4 even though the services were running. Was fine with previous versions, and I just had to change the helper service (using local system) to use the same account as the main service and then it ...

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

We delete everything in the Program folder, so if you place the INI file there then it also gets deleted. You never used to do this nor have even mentioned this in the change log, and I did not put the INI file there as it has been present in that location since 0.x - I can probably show you this f...

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

Well, these are SAB's program files. That's why we also store settings/database/etc in a different directory. It will delete the whole of the installation directory (maybe that's also why your INI is being removed?) just to make sure no traces are left of older versions. Because files change over t...

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

Didn't change anything. For the notifications you need to copy the whole templates dir with all the languages and only modify yours. Otherwise it will send all languages as a (strange!) fallback. Ok I will give that a go, but can you stop the installer deleting the content of the sub-folder? It nev...

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

The installer only copies to the install dir and possibly the settings dir, cannot go outside that. The "email/user" folder is within the install dir, and I only made the copies and pointed SABnzbd to it because every notification I was receiving came to me in every single language, not just Englis...

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

Also, it removed the content of my email/users folder so my notification templates could not be found. The folder was still there but the three English templates I copied there were gone.

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

I just upgraded from RC-1 to RC-2, and found myself with a default INI file again - recovering the file from my archive resolves the problem.

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

The code does the following: if a email-dir is defined, it will search there for the template for the specific message. It doesn't go and check the default folder if it can't find it in the email-dir, and it has been that way since it was introduced: https://github.com/sabnzbd/sabnzbd/blame/develop...

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

I took a look at the emailing code and it hasn't really changed since 2013. What I understand there is just 1 template folder, where indeed all templates should be and where you can modify them. Not according to the Wiki : Standard template WARNING: do not modify the standard templates, but make a ...

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

Oh, another thing regarding the email templates - by using just "email" as the folder now I get a notification in each language instead of just English. So I have copied the English ones to "email\user", changed the setting and now I receive just the one.

Re: [2.0.0 RC 1] 64bit upgrade from 32bit

Ok, so I decided to simply copy back the .INI file from my archive file and everything seems to come up and run normally. If I can "obfuscate" the file I'll happily PM you a copy if you want to see it? I do see that the version number within script hasn't changed between v1 and v2 it was still "__ve...
