licensing stuff: GPL "version 2" vs. "2 or later"

Just noticed that in COPYRIGHT.txt and at the top of LICENSE.txt it is claimed that sabnzbd+ is under GPL version 2 (only), while all the headers in the *.py files say "v2 or later". The latter (v2 or later) seems to be intended, and is imho strongly preferred or even necessary for reasons of compat...

Re: (Unofficial) Ubuntu repository for SABnzbd+

Pretty sure that the performance difference of the ICC on multicore systems is well documented. The windows bullds on SABnzbd.org and RAF's builds for MAC OS X all have it. I think I remember looking at that code some time ago, finding the modifications made at that time were windoze-only. Good to ...

Re: (Unofficial) Ubuntu repository for SABnzbd+

For your REPOSITORY.... Would you be able to use the ICC version of PAR2 for x86 systems: http://chuchusoft.com/par2_tbb/par2cmdline-0.4-tbb-20080420-lin32.tar.gz Longer term, maybe, if it has real benefits, works on enough platforms, etc etc etc. But don't count on it to happen, let alone anytime ...

Re: (Unofficial) Ubuntu repository for SABnzbd+

Skypike, looks like the automated python handling in the package creates non-optimized compiled *.pyc files only. Will look into making it create pyo too as soon as I find the time for it.

Re: (Unofficial) Ubuntu repository for SABnzbd+

rc5 is available; some changes were made to the package:
  • Replaced dependency on obsoleted package python-pyopenssl by python-openssl (hardy only).
  • Moved the unrar dependency from suggested to recommended.
Now let's just hope the final comes out before my vacation starts :P

Re: (Unofficial) Ubuntu repository for SABnzbd+

Hi, Thanks for the repository,  much appreciated. I think there is a small typo in the url if anyone is having trouble with their sources.list. [...] "gutsy"  should be "gusty"  which was why I was getting a 404. Anyways I just thought I would point that out if anyone was getting 404's. Thanks for ...

Re: (Unofficial) Ubuntu repository for SABnzbd+

0.4.0rc2 has been uploaded and built. Compared to 0.3.4 the perl dependencies have gone, a recommended dependency for python-pyopenssl has been added (for ssl support), and of course sabnzbd+ has been greatly improved ;D. In case you are upgrading from the 0.3.4 package and have your system set to n...

Re: 0.4.0-beta2 stops downloading. Restart of SABnzbd needed.

The problem described in my post (Reply #15 on: April 17, 2008) still holds exactly as before on beta5, except that the python error is gone. When some server is unreachable, nothing is ever downloaded from any server and the log shows a repetitive cycle of connection attempts and subsequent failure...

Re: Post Processing Error

The mkdir -m  command should make the folder with the permissions set, in this case 655, but it didnt. The -m option of mkdir only applies to the "final" directory, but not to any parent even when created at the same time. Default permissions are controlled by umask. Inserting umask 122 at the begi...

Re: SABnzbd and PID File under Linux

shypike wrote:SABnzbd could be made to return the PID as an exit code when started with --daemon.
+1 for that suggestion. Once the pid is known, everything else can found via some simple scripting.

Re: Post Processing Error

Here is the result of a ls on the parent folder drwx------  3 root root     4.0K 2008-04-29 14:20 <showname>/ And the point of showing this ls output is...? Your script only runs chown/chmod on '/Season 6', and does not touch the parent directory at all, other than (possibly) creating it as part of...
