don't give up

The batman599 is using Newsdemon, not Eweka. The post has a tiny defect, (021/652) and (036/652) of .r66 didn't propagate from the Eweka posting server. Other than that it seems to be perfect. I don't have Newsdemon but used NZB Download Checker and found another Highwinds server, Newsgroupdirect, i...

Did you ever solve this problem? If articles are missing I would hunt them down.

Re: Help in fixing incomplete nzb from sanzb plz

I always find out why a post has to be repaired, just out of curiosity.

Re: Insufficient repair blocks

Disturbing trend; might be my Scottish ancestry but I don't like to see such waste. Whatever issues are causing a 40% failure rate should be troubleshooted into oblivion.

Re: Backup provider to fill in holes

You might want to download Quickpar (for Windows) so you can repair files manually, and separate from SABnzbd.

Re: Backup provider to fill in holes

Astraweb and Highwinds cheap blocks.  The Highwinds reseller could be Newsgroupdirect.com

Giganews/Supernews don't sell block accounts.

If you are a totally nubular did you know that PAR2 files are used to repair missing pieces?

Re: Restoring _FAILED_ downloads

You might be able to tweak your setup to avoid even a 1% failure rate.  To  do that you'd have to know exactly why they fail.

Re: test nzb before download

No I didn't use the script, I used standalone programs and telnet. HEAD works better than STAT but all commands with msg-id for old articles are too slow on some Readnews servers. Do you have access to a Readnews server?  Some are slower for STAT, HEAD, BODY, ARTICLE, and more broken for STAT than o...

Re: test nzb before download

Servers reselling 'Readnews' often return inaccurate responses to the STAT command. - Sending STAT if GROUP is not sent first - '412 Not in a newsgroup'. - Nonsensical responses - '501 newsgroup'. - Inaccurate responses - '430 No such article' but the article can be retrieved. - Delayed responses - ...

Re: Failed downloads - advice?

To backup Easynews, NewsDemon or other Highwinds group providers, add block account servers from Astraweb, and a 'Readnews' provider such as Usenet-News.net or Blocknews.net . Tip:  When you see msg-id's of the form 'nnnnnnnnnn.nnnnn.nn@eu.news.astraweb.com' they were posted to Astraweb by a certain...

Re: Frequent Repair Failed with HD Movies

Newshosting completion is spotty 500-700 days old.  I suggest adding backup servers paid for by block.
