Newshosting is notorious for DNS problems like this. Usually it's solved by instead of entering the server address, entering its IP.
You just have to look up the IP address of your server.

Re: Slow start at begining of download 1.1.0RC1
This might be due to the new way we make connections, where we ask the DNS for all the IP-addresses (usually a newsserver has multiple per hostname) and then check whichever is fastest.
Maybe you can try and disable it in Config > Switches? It's the 'Server load-balancing' feature.

Re: Is filtering the queue possible?
What kind of filtering? Like a search?
In Glitter the search box will show up when you have multiple pages, so set your Queue item limit (in Status and Interface settings) lower, and the searchbox will appear.

Re: Error after Update 1.1.0RC1
You should un-install, remove the PPA and re-add using the nobeta PPA.
This way you will only get updates when there is a new stable release:

Re: Extremely slow d/l ONYL with SABnzbd v1
Did you try a different download? It just sounds like your downloads are not available on the server.
How about something that surely isn't taken down with DCMA, so something like an Ubuntu ISO for example.
If that's not the case, go into Settings and turn of Load balancing, in Switches.

Re: download just stops
Usenetserver.com has been mentioned before with regards to IPv6 and DNS problems. Usually using one of their other servers (is it something like eu.news.usenetserver.com?) or the direct IP solves it.

Re: [1.1.0 RC1] queue management broken
Since last time no-one else has reported any of these bugs and I was unable to reproduce them :/ The NZBUnity problem really seems out of our control, the command the reported outcome are identical to 1.0.x so it's likely something on their side. The lower priority downloads being downloaded before ...

If you want a Server to download all jobs, you should only select the Default category in the Categories section of a Server.

Re: Restore orphans?
Oh that's some bad luck...
No there is no way to get it back, SAB's delete doesn't move it to trash or anything, but deletes directly.
If it's very valuable you could always try one of those file-recovery software packages, but that might be too late already.

On Ubuntu using the PPA? In the PPA the ip lookup is blocked, for security reasons. Only when you set logging to Debug (which might slow things down), it will show it.
