Re: Ubuntu 20.04 new install not checking/downloading

Happyeyeballs returning None is a bug caused by a hardcoded tls version (issue #1396 on github fixed in commit 26e1a72 ). That code is used to try to determine the optimal server ip to connect to, but its failure shouldn't prevent sab from connecting anyway. Did you setup us.newsdemon.com with a low...

Re: SABnzbd for Py3 stable yet?

The py3 version works fine as a daily driver. Even the sabnzbdplus package in ubuntu 20.04 is based on a (pre alpha1) git snapshot, alpha2 is currently on the ppa (in turn used by 3rd party docker setups). None of that caused an avelanche of a bug reports either. Just go for it.

The email issue is caused a typo in a packaging-specific patch, will be fixed in the alpha2 package. Thanks for reporting.

Re: 3.0 Alpha 1 Ubuntu 18.04 LTS: zombie and a child of the sabnzb process.

As far as I can tell every sab function continues to work just fine, daemon mode included. There's only the possibility of a (probably minor) resource leak until the sab parent process eventually exits and that zombie process disappears with it.

Re: 3.0 Alpha 1 Ubuntu 18.04 LTS: zombie and a child of the sabnzb process.

I suspect this is one of the cases where sab doesn't close file/process handles. Looking at recent github issues and commits, Sanderjo is on a mission to hunt these down.

Re: [Errno 61] (60, '[Errno 65] No route to host')

Nzbfinder is an indexer, not a usenet server. You mistakenly configured nzbfinder as a usenet server in sabnzbd. That isn't going to work.

Re: Synology SAB traffic overloads router

So I kick off a download and the internet in house just went bye-bye! No DNS (router provides DNS), nothing. I check SAB and its humming along at max speed but nothing else is working. I try to login to the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter GUI,... no response. Try SSH and its very slow, get on and the uptime sh...

Re: Need help with workflow, +delete adds nzb to queue?

If a job contains only other nzb files, these will be automatically redirected to the queue, with the same job settings. In case there's only a single nzb in your initial download, it will also keep the job name. See here for the inner workings. That means your workflow of extracting nzb-only jobs i...

Re: Windows10 - accents issue with post processing script

See below the entries for the scripts in the SABnzbd debug log. They indeed show that the scripts are called with different code pages for the NZB name. Not quite. The apparent difference is caused by how the logging in sab displays the variables. For the pre-queue script, it shows an internal Pyth...

unrar 1:0.0.1+cvs201
You don't want that unrar. Uninstall 'unrar-free' (its support for modern rar features is far too limited to be useful), and install the proper one (binary package 'unrar', from multiverse). Sabnzbd does warn about that too, iirc.

Re: default base folder - docker compose

You can set all directories (download/incomplete/category/script/etc.) in sab to any directory of your choice by specifying an absolute (full) path. In linux systems such as your ubuntu system inside docker, a path is considered absolute if it starts with a /.

Re: Disable post-processing

It's possible to disable postproc altogether by setting 'processing' for the (default) category to download only. The other (and way nicer unless you have too much free time) option to avoid your issue is to use 'pause downloading during post-processing' under switches.
