Re: Time To Go Usenet Provider Shopping
You could have saved $2/mo with the Supernews affiliate special I linked to in the previous post.
Edit: Also, a Tweaknews secondary may be overkill. All I've needed for quite awhile now is Supernews, not even a backup block from Blocknews.

Re: Time To Go Usenet Provider Shopping
If you like Giganews' service but not the price, look at Supernews. Same company, same newsfeed, just capped to slightly less retention (like, two weeks less), for a third of the price.

Re: So, when does Sabnzbd get built-in NZB indexing?
NZB sites are not, in fact, "dropping like flies". The only sites that went down were Newzbin and NZBMatrix. Since then, a bunch of new perfectly good alternatives have cropped up. Several of them are listed here.jemenake wrote:With NZB sites dropping like flies

Re: Legality
forums.sabnzbd.org is not a legal advice forum.
If you think what you're doing might be illegal, don't do it.

Re: ICE ECC Support?
Yeah, I actually just contacted the guy and asked him if he ever planned on making ICE ECC open source / cross platform. His answer was directly "no" and then he told me that he has plans of turning it into a pay-for program. Then I hope he looks forward to no one using his application. I...

Re: NZBMATRIX had closed
Guys, may I recommend using nzbfinder.ws.I just donated a week ago and this site really works as a charm. For me the best out there. And the back office with support is excellent. Hm, neat, this is the first place I've seen that's running both Newznab and Spotweb. Though, I'm not exactly sure who c...

Re: NewzNab/MySQL Optimizations
Ok, three things: 1) It looks like you're defining max_allowed_packet twice, once to 10M, once to 12582912. Nuke the second one, and try setting the first to 128M. That'll be overkill, but shouldn't cause a problem. 2) You'll likely want to bump your wait_timeout even higher. That number is in secon...

14 fill servers? Are you aware that there aren't 14 distinct paid binary newsfeeds out there, so most of what you're doing is paying for the same feeds through different middle-men?

Also, look harder here on the forums. Elsewhere in General Discussion there are several people announcing their new indexers, and there are always more indexers being added to the wiki.

Playing with some options we may have to get around this issue. We may be able to go with an option where SSL works until we're under heavy load and have to turn on CloudFlare for the forum.
