I am having the same problem. I am running 6.9.0 on Arch Linux. It will run for a day sometimes, maybe 10 minutes, maybe an hour. The logs show that it stops after decoding with yenc. I'm having an issue with a file that I downloaded. I'm completely new to Sab but I've gotten two files to download -- using SickBeard + Sab. Well, one to download and one to fail. I tried to repair the failed download and it failed. And what did SABnzbd say in the WebGUI? What was the error message?

If I read http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/configure-servers-v2 , I don't think Optional does what you want.

But anyway: why not try the setup you describe?
