Re: Prioritize fill/backup servers
I'm just happy that this is back (?) on the agenda. I have quite a complicated setup of free and free/limited and pay/cheap pay/expensive servers and would really like to have this. Thanks shypike

Stats - Last month more useful than this month
Hey guys It's probably not very important, but I'll make the suggestion nonetheless - I find when I'm using the server stats, often to evaluate the health of my servers (I have 3+ , still hoping for multi-tiered priority :) ) The weekly daily etc values are useful, but the really meaty data is 'mont...

PAUSED status prevents idle/sleep
Hey guys This might be a bit on the nitpicky side, but I figured I'd report it and let you decide whether its something to be fixed. What I've observed is in the case of a duplicate that has been paused by sabnzbd, this will prevent idling to sleep. I believe this also happens with a single item in ...

Re: Watched folder and scan speed behaviour
Hey shypike
Thanks for your response. The maximum value of the scan delay seems to be 3600 seconds.
Do you think this could be increased?
thanks

Watched folder and scan speed behaviour
Hey guys I'm trying to reduce idle load so that my hibernate works better. I've come across some funny behaviour in trying to configure the watched folder. Keeping the watched folder blank does not seem to stop scans. If I set the scan time to 0 seconds, suddenly the cpu shoots up to 50% and stays t...

Need new usenet - which services allow two IP's?
Hey guys Looks like I need to buy new usenet service. I have two separated boxes and I want to split the connections between the two. From personal experience does anyone know which providers won't complain if I do this? I think XSnews does it but their rates and listed retention seem kind of out of...

Re: Free Newsservers
reader.ipv6.xsnews.nl seems to be working for me (off and on) but is ridiculously slow ranging from X kb/s to 100kb/s
I'd be curious to know if anyone else sees same behaviour?

Re: ISP implementing caps, will SSL help me?
My sabnzbd reports ~ 300 gb this month so far Wow! 300GB?! What kind of content is that? It could be 60 DVDs, or 20 blurays. Do you have the time to watch that? To answer your question: SSL will encrypt the traffic, it will *not* compress the traffic. The number of bytes will be the same. That's ...

Re: ISP implementing caps, will SSL help me?
SSL won't help to deal with caps. Bytes are bytes and your ISP won't have a problem counting them, encrypted or not. It *might* help avoid traffic shaping, but that another problem. I wasn't hoping to "hide" bytes, but rather, I thought that usenet used 7 bit text encoding, and that that ...

ISP implementing caps, will SSL help me?
Hey guys My ISP is toughening up their bandwidth caps, and I'm under the impression if you use SSL the traffic is compressed, whereas without it is not compressed? But in the real world, how much difference would it make? My sabnzbd reports ~ 300 gb this month so far and I think thats actually a lo...

This sounds suspiciously like what I saw (I haven't come across a new example of this though)
