LOL!

I would say: start with 5.

If that works, you can higher it to 8 and see it that makes it faster. If not, just use 5 or so.

In Config -> Server: 'connections'. What have you filled out there?

FYI Nice site: www.LinuxAteMyRam.com

FYI Interesting site: http://www.LinuxAteMyRam.com explaining why/how Linux uses all your RAM (for disk caching), and how to see how much RAM is actually free: the last number in the line "buffers/cache:" from "free -m". So:

Code: Select all

free -m | grep cache: | awk '{ print $NF }'

Re: Free Newsservers

See my config below. BUT: why use readfreenews? I tried them for you, and of a 7 days old post, everything seems to be missing. What does http://test-ipv6.com/ say about your IPv6? [[news.readfreenews.net]] username = "" enable = 1 name = news.readfreenews.net fillserver = 0 connections = ...

Re: Free Newsservers

Thanks for your reply sander. I'm using correctly free.xsusenet.com , the only usenet server that I can use for free (but only 10 day retention) and it works fine, if with sabnzbd I try to test server I obtain ever "connection successful!" Some days ago I could use also news.just4today.ne...

Re: Recommendations for low end Ubuntu box

Hi, I've SABnzbd running without problems on a 256MB RAM VPS. However, I must say that, because I only have got 20GB disk space, I only download posts with maximum size 6 - 9GB. So no 40GB BluRay images. sander@toverdoos:~$ free -m total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 237 177 60 0 7 83 -/+ buf...

Re: Free Newsservers

I'm from Italy and with free.tweaknews.nl and news.readfreenews.net I obtain ever connection timed out. Why this? Can you connect to any other newsserver? If not, it might be your firewall or your ISP blocking access. You can try: news.giganews.com news.xs4all.nl Nota bene: The above 2 are NOT free...

Re: Too many connections to server?

"Too many connections to server secure.us.thundernews.com:563" means that the news server secure.us.thundernews.com is saying it's getting too many connections from your system or the account you're using. So: - lower the number of threads / connections. What is the current number set in S...

Re: Sab not working anymore after restart

Can't do that, as soon as i launch it, it tells me that there is an error and where the log is, and quit sabznb Ah. Then do this: Make sure SABnzbd is not running (check running processes) Find the (hidden?) file sabnzbd.ini. See http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/faq#toc18 for the location Open sabnzbd.ini w...

Re: Sab not working anymore after restart

On your Windows desktop, right click with your mouse on the SAB icon in the lower right button, choose Troubleshoot, and then Restart - 127.0.0.1:8080.

Does that work?

Re: Sab on the Raspberry Pi?

I have SAB running on my Raspi: SAB downloads at 30 kBps, and/but also get the timed-out-errors. With its 256MB RAM and it's 700 Mhz ARM CPU, the Raspi is too low-specced for useful, reliable usage. You could try NZBget or NNTPgrab on your Raspi; they need less resources. 2012-09-08 05:57:21,367::IN...

Re: _FAILED_ Folders being created

Version 0.5.6? Why aren't you on SAB 0.7.3?

"nfsnas"? A NAS via NFS? What happens when you let it handle locally? Reason: if NFS or NAS behaves a bit strange, SAB will not be happy.

With all the Russian / Ukraine / Cyrillic spammers now active on the forum, I really would like to have this phpBB mod active: http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/PhpBB3_MOD:_phpBB_spam_hammer#Minimum_post_count Let's set the minimum post count to 10 so that spammers can't put in an URL in their pos...

While on your LAN/WLAN, can you access SABnzbd from another device (computer, wifi-phone)?
