Re: Newzbin Mobile, a third-party frontend for mobile devices.
Put in my vote to make it work again too! It was a very simple and slick solution.

Same error here. No VPN, nothing more than forwarded ports on my router.

Re: Internet essentially dies after SABnzbd use
You could connect your computer directly to your modem, bypassing your router. If the internet dies, then you know it's the computer or modem, if it doesn't die, then it's your router.

Re: myNZB
For future versions of myNZB, I'd like to see a place in the settings where you can enter a maximum speed, and then have the speed choices within the app base off that number. For example, my maximum download speed is 800kbytes/sec. I'd enter that in the preferences, and then when I choose the speed...

If you can, you may want to try another connection type. If you're using wifi, switch to ethernet temporarily. If you're using ethernet, switch to wifi. See if you get any different results.

Is your Leopard firewall on? (Security system preference).
Unison is another Mac usenet reader/downloader. See if you get the same results, which might indicate an issue with the entire machine, not just SABnzbd.

Re: Can it be that the update to Safari 4.0 crashed sabnzbd+ ?
You said you reinstalled SABnzbd. Have you tried removing the invisible folder ~/.sabnzbd where your settings reside? You can remove it by using the terminal or by using the finder "Go" command to go to "~/.sabnzbd" and removing the sabnzbd.ini, cache and logs folders. Then launc...

Re: Can it be that the update to Safari 4.0 crashed sabnzbd+ ?
I've been running 10.5.7 and Safari 4 (first the beta, now the final) and have had zero issues with SAB.
I think it's something else causing the problem.

Try it without SSL, see if it improves.

Re: AstraWeb
Astraweb alone. No major drops in speed unless I'm downloading stuff at the outer reaches of retention (250+ days). Since they're outgoing connections, there's no need to forward ports.

Re: AstraWeb
I have astraweb and have no problems maxing out my Comcast 6.25mbit (800kbytes/sec) connection.
I'm using astraweb with SSL w/SABnzbd 0.4.11 on my Mac.

Re: Newzbin Mobile, a third-party frontend for mobile devices.
If there's a 2gb limit, then it's imposed by newzbin and I can't get around it without screen scraping. I've turned over the source to newzbin's developers and they've mentioned that they'll be making this into a full proper ui soon. By "full proper ui" do you mean an actual newzbin brand...

Re: Mac Mini vs. MacBook Download Speeds
I would agree with rAf that you need to eliminate some variables. • Be sure both machines are running the same version of OS X • Connect both via ethernet and see if speeds differ • Try transferring via another method (FTP, HTTP, etc). Are speeds the same as SABnzbd? (It'll help determine if it's _j...

Re: prebuilt Sabnzbd+ having trouble installing yEnc on OSX leopard
Just like any well made Mac app should -- you simply drag and drop it from the dmg to your Applications folder, and launch it. Everything else is self contained.
