Re: Have SABnzbd to do the repair on another computer

Repairs take 3-4 hours on a 2 GHz processor? How big are those downloads? This must be much bigger than 5GB downloads, right?

But still: is it a problem that your NAS is working somewhere in the back?

Re: Socket Error

You're welcome. Good that it works. A few remarks:

- AFAIK SAB does not change its source code. Maybe the file was in use while you edited it?
- SAB only uses Python 2.x. So for a fully correct test, start python 2 ("python2" on your system?). Can you run the test again, just to be sure?

Re: Socket Error

I see "/opt", so you're running SABnzbd on a NAS or so? On that device, can you run this and post the output here: sander@R540:~$ python Python 2.7.3 (default, Sep 26 2012, 21:51:14) [GCC 4.7.2] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license&qu...

Config -> Categories. The upper line is "Default" category. At Folder/Path fill out the location you want.

OK, clear. I prefer to do as much as possible of my traffic with personal stuff over HTTPS. For now, I will change my bookmarks. Oh, wait: I hope forum@sabnzbd.org has now also stopped sending https-URLs? I checked my mailbox, and searching for "https://forums.sabnzbd.org/" gives thousands...

Re: Install sabnzbd on Synology DS212J

Hi everyone, thank you for your posts, I have gone to the website you suggested. When I go to download Python and sabnzbd and still don't see my model listed under the download links. Can anyone confirm which one works with the DS212J? Worth a try: check out http://forum.synology.com/wiki/index.php...

Re: Slow download, stupid high ETA, but fast progress bar..

I'm having similar issues....but many things download fine if I just use a program like GrabIt instead of SAB. Currently downloading at 1900 kb/sec in that program....but the file in SAB was bouncing between 50 and 300 kb/sec and is now just sitting at 0 If you have similar issues you already got t...

Re: Have SABnzbd to do the repair on another computer

If possible, would it make sense? Imagine you have downloaded all rar and par2 files, total 5GB. You then copy this over your LAN, at a speed of ... let's say 100 Mbps = 10 MB/s. So that takes 500 seconds = more than 8 minutes. You repair on some other machine, and then you have to copy back 4.5GB ....

Re: Slow download, stupid high ETA, but fast progress bar..

As Shypike says: probably not available on server (anymore).

Two tips:
Turn on "Check before download" in Config -> Switches
Do the test as described on http://forums.sabnzbd.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12666

HOWTO: test your SABnzbd setup

This is a HOWTO to test your SABnzbd setup. You can use this when your downloads result in "Repair failed, not enough repair blocks (... short) " or "Out of your server's retention?", and you wonder what is going on. See http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/faq#toc11 and http://wiki.sabnzbd.o...

Re: Permission to open files

Instead of focussing on the problems, try to do a successful download. For example: a Ubuntu image (see http://binsearch.info/index.php?q=ubunt ... &postdate= )

Re: Install sabnzbd on Synology DS212J

On http://www.mertymade.com/blog/ Mertymade tells he has stopped creating / supporting packages. So maybe your DS212J is newer than his decison? The same page http://www.mertymade.com/blog/ at the bottom mentions two alternative methods for SABnzbd ... maybe that helps? Disclaimer: I have no Synology.
