Re: elaborate step-by-step OS X 10.5 src install
Out of curiosity, why would you go through all of this effort when we've got a universal .app?

Re: SABnzbdX, SABnzbd for OSX gui
Sticking this thread. Do you think it would be possible to roll this into future sabnzbd osx builds as an option?

Re: Slow Browsing
And if this is the case, try using Plush and the feature it has for limiting how much of the queue it displays.switch wrote:If it is just sabnzbd being slow, do you have a massive queue, as in over 100 nzb's in the queue.

Re: Req: Direct link to download folder
Right. It works for you, but there's no way for us to build a general case that will work everywhere, so we won't be adding this as a feature.JonDubya wrote: What I implemented works for me. I use sabnzbd on my desktop so everything is local.

Re: Firefox 3.0.3 ... testing
I got the first error message because I tried to post too much technical logging: You were probably hit by the security filter of the forum. It's suspicious of anything that even remotely looks like an XSS attempt. Put the info in a text file and upload it as an attachment. I think the forum error ...

Oh wow, you're registered here now and have a new version of your great feed manipulator. I've been recommending the old version of your stuff for ages now. Thanks for your work on this!

tdian was always sort of distant, only showing his face to push out a new release every six-to-twelve months. He just sorta went away for good.RXP wrote:What has happened to the original author? Started off a great thing that the present authors have continued. Made my life so much easier!

Re: web root
If this was the same dude from irc last night, he was consolidating services on a single box, and wanted to eliminate various ports / subdirectories. He ended up using the Apache ProxyPass stuff as listed in this thread.pair of dimes wrote: I am curious, why would you bother to change this?

Re: Displaying stats in Mirc
I don't have a script for you, but it should be pretty trivial to write one if your script has access to the internet. Check out this page on the wiki , and scroll down to "Brief queue status report (json or xml)". Have your script stat that URL and you'll have an XML version of your queue...

Re: Very Important: ATTN Comcast Users, Monthly Band Monitor
Since SABnzbd+ traffic is most likely only a fraction of your total traffic, you'll probably be better off using something like Netmeter to monitor your monthly traffic (and send you alerts when you near a monthly quota), or a custom router firmware such as tomato or DD-WRT to monitor bandwidth usag...

Re: Manipulating Powerboost
However, RFC 977 (Section 2.1) for NNTP specifically specifies TCP port 119 as the "assigned" destination port. Please reference: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc977.txt Lots of protocols have "assigned" ports. However, eluding ISP filtering is not the only reason a server might run ...

Re: Manipulating Powerboost
This insinuation of abuse and the theory of "sticking it to the ISP" is only as valid as the reasoning behind allowing a user to change their NNTP server port setting! Seriously, why allow users to change this port setting? Maybe to bypass certain ISP limitations, per chance? Wouldn't thi...

Re: Manipulating Powerboost
I don't consider it as F'ing Comcast. To the contrary, I would consider it a utilizing a feature that my ISP offers for a service that I pay well for. Except the intended use of the feature is to only boost the first 5 Megs. Gaming Powerboost to be active all the time isn't use of the feature, it's...

Re: Manipulating Powerboost
Hate to be the voice of dissent here, but I really don't think it's a good idea to start building features that specifically side-step ISP limitations. It's one thing to include something like SSL, which similarly eludes packet filtering of NNTP traffic, but has legitimate use. It's a completely dif...

Re: Different Download Types (e.g. http/ftp)?
I believe this would be outside of the scope of what we want sabnzbd to do. We're trying to make something that's a newsreader, and nothing but a newsreader, not a super-generalized swiss-army-knife that does everything under the sun.
