What happens if you click the Test Download in the Status and Interface settings window? This is the wrench icon in the top bar.
On that same window, does it show any other problems?

No, you dont use the latest version. Try updating, as it suggests. You should be using 2.3.9.

The unrar that never goes away or the warning messages?
It's a bug in Unrar, try to disable Direct Unpack if you want to prevent it. The warning will be less active in 2.3.9.
