FWIW, I just tested with VyprVPN and I can't connect to Giganews with it either, but I can connect to other Usenet providers. Ironic considering VyprVPN and Giganews are the same. Seems like something we should e-mail Giganews support about, but it's not SABnzbd related.

ssl.astraweb.com and ssl-us.astraweb.com are the same, so you can remove one of those. You need a provider from a different backend than Astraweb.
