Re-installation on a new drive (Synology), recover all settings

Post by xAmorphousx »

I recently swapped the drives in my Synology NAS that I had SABNZBD installed on, but backed up the whole (hidden) app folder. I've re-installed the package, but haven't run it yet.

Is there an easy way to recover all of the settings and configuration from the backup?

All you need is the sabnzbd.ini and the sabnzbd.bak :)

If anyone else is looking for the easy answer, for Synology the applicable directory was:
\<InstallVolume>\@appstore\sabnzbd\var\
config.ini

And don't forget to change permissions.

Copying my old config.ini.bak caused an error every time I tried to save new settings. Seems it couldn't be overwritten even with chmod 777. Not copying it over didn't seem to have any deleterious effect; a new .bak file was created as soon as I saved settings.

@xAmorphousx Thank you for this information.

How can I copy this config.ini with WinSCP or some other program?
I only get an "scp: config.ini: Permission denied" error, even connected with the user "Administrator" on my Synology.
