Purge Failed Jobs = permanent deletion? Change to Recycle Bin?

Post by quangjingy »

In case the question in the subject is not clear:

When I press "purge failed NZBs" or when SABnzbd automatically performs one of the scripted/triggered actions that involve deleting old/broken/orphaned data, the program permanently deletes that data rather than performing the "send to recycle bin" type of deletion that is the standard "delete" for the windows right click shell and "delete" key on the keyboard. Instead, it is performing the "shift delete"

Is there any way to set up the software it so that it always sends to recycle bin, or at least in some instances?

To be clear, I am referring exclusively to spinning disks, with no SSDs on the system (as SSDs obviously delete/overwrite differently than spinning disks)
Also in case it was not obvious, I am referring to a windows install.

I could not find a setting like this, although I may have missed it as some of the settings have difficult to understand descriptions.

Any help would be appreciated.

No, because we can't do that from the code. We can only hard-delete.

But what is the reason you would want that?
Why keep files of jobs that failed?
