2.2.0b2 Edit name in queue -> direct unpack stops

Post by .maxx »

Hi guys,

if I edit the name of a download in b2 direct unpack stops. Even one single character.
Same if I change the category.

Yes, that's on purpose.
When you change the name, the final unpack directory changes and thus the safest is to abort.
Same with changing category, this could change the directory, again it's safest to just abort and let regular unrar take care of it.

How about an UI button to manually start direct unpack, e.g. after set category or edit the name?

Direct Unpack is a quite delicate process where we have to always make sure we are unpacking the right thing to the right place and if it fails that we remove the right things. Plus we don't have the security that we have during post-processing that files are 100% correct.
So everything that could break the balance, is failure+reset for now.

A soft-reset like during a name/category change is something we can consider for the future. Right now Direct Unpack is a bonus-feature :)
