Overview of some 0.4.0Beta1 Features

Post by switch »

New Default look:
Choose from seven different color schemes for the Default template
Image

New look for Plush:
Image

New look for SMPL (can select between white and black versions):
Image

New queue stuff
Image
1. Verbosity can now be toggled on/off on a single job
2. Categories drop-down for the new category mode.
3. Scripts now has it's own drop down menu showing all scripts available in your scripts folder.
4. The ETA format has been changed so it is a bit more human readable.
5. The age field is now shorter and more condensed.

History
Image
1. You can now delete single history items
2. New stage for downloading shows the time it took to download and the average speed.
3. Loaded True/False field has been replaced with a "Status" field. Single line report tells you what is happening such as
"Queued"
"Verifying"
"Repairing"
"Extracting"
"Moving"
Followed by "Completed" or "Failed" depending on how the par and unrar's went.

Add Schedule:
Image
Will probably be overhauled in 0.5.0 but for now it is more human readable.
Easier to select Hour:Minutes
Frequency is now Daily,Monday,Tuesday...
New actions:
"speedlimit" limits the download speed in kB/s
   "shutdown" closes down sabnzbd
(arguments is only to be used for speedlimiting at the moment)

Re-designed RSS Module
Image
Give it the url to an RSS feed and you can add filters that narrow down the matched items by either being "Accepted" or "Rejected"
Clicking the "Query" button will show you what will match that set of filters, and what has already been downloaded.
Clicking the "Start/Download" will immediately start RSS processing and matched items will be added to the queue.

Bookmark processing.
Image
This is a low frequency bookmark checker. It is not meant to replace sabtab or nzbdstatus. It is meant for situations such as at work/school where you want to add a download to be done by the time you get home; and don't want to expose SABnzbd to the world.

Categories
Image
If you want TV stuff or Movies to be downloaded to another folder/hard drive, then you can set-up categories for your downloads.
Simply specify the name, unpack, and script options followed by the directory (either relative to your download directory such as in this screen shot, or a fixed path such as E:\TV\)

SSL
Image
SSL support is handled by pyopenssl, so make sure that is installed for you non-windows folks.
Simply enable SSL (if not enabled pyopenssl insnt installed) on your server that you know supports SSL. If you enable it on a non-ssl server it will just fall-back to not using SSL.

New on queue finish options.
Image
These are actions that are performed when the current queue has been completed.
Before there was only shutdown pc (windows only). Now there is
Shutdown PC (windows only)
Hibernate PC (windows only)
Shutdown SABnzbd
Scripts - runs one of your scripts from your defined script folder.

TV Sorting
Image
SABnzbd can now detect when you are downloading an item that is part of a series such as a single episode or a part of a DVD.
It can organise your folder structure as such putting files in folders such as:
Show Name/Season 1/1x01 - Episode Name/
Show Name/Season 1/S01E01 - Episode Name/
or even dump everything into one folder (select "No Folder")
Show Name/Season 1/
Show Name/

Looks good,  cant wait.  Have Built it myself from the SVN but no matter what i do i cant seem to get it work 100%.  Im sure by now you have it all figured out and what needs to be added to python to build it.

Keep up the good work couldnt live without this brilliant little program.

Woww, I'm impressed. Seems like you really did an awesome job. Can't wait to try it out.

Still, why user configurable categories... ? Is there anything besides "open-source apps" and
"linux distros" ?  ::)

I have three connections I use to download with. I was wondering if it'd be possible to make it show the individual speed per connection / aggregate per host in the connections tab. It'd save me from needing to have my individual router's bandwidth pages open to see if anything is stalling.

I was curious what url do you use to get to the secondary template? Or is this not included in the beta release?

http://host:port/sabnzbd/m is the link to the second template.
If you use plush in the beta, there is a link to the new 4.0 wiki.

I just CANNOT wait. I only switched to SAB a few days ago after an eternity of Hellanzb (I run OSX Leopard), and I love it. Really looking forward to the revamped UI and the RSS functionality, you guys are amazing.

Do you guys run a public beta?

Wanting to install sab on my linux download machine, and I am wondering whether or not to wait for 0.4.0 beta, it definitely looks a massive improvement.

Get the SVN of 0.4.0. Running it on my Linux box right now (LinkStation).
