download size not as advertised

I have been having a strange thing happening when downloading a movie. When sabnzbd is downloading it will tell me that the size of the download is Xgb long, then it completes, with no errors. When I goto the downloaded file it goes from a file that is supposed to be gb long to something around 300+mb long. When I try and run it it will start and run for a bit and then suddenly end. This has happened to me about 7 times and I have no idea why its happening (there are no errors as far as I know).
This may just be some kind of strange posting - I really have no idea but thought I would post this to see if anybody else is getting stuff like this.
