HI all,
I've installed SABnzbd by using the PPA and everything works fine (thanks for that) but I've got no tray icon and I'm always using it to control SABzbd. I've got one in Cinnamon and also in KDE, but not in Gnome neither under Manjaro nor with Gnome and PopOs.

Currently I'm using Pop 20.04 LTS and the Gnome Version is 3.36.8. Is anybody able to help?

Thanks and best regards

Yes. Has never worked for me on Ubuntu. I've tried to analyze / solve it, without success.

It does work on Kubuntu.

Ok, thanks. So it doesn't seem to be a problem only with my installation.

That's gnome devs deciding tray icons are a thing of the past, thinking desktop notifications can serve as a complete replacement. I even added an xapp implementation of the sab tray icon, so it should work on most desktop environments. If you ever figure out a way to get it to show up on gnome, do let us know.

Thanks a lot jcfp and if I find a solution I'll write it here. And yes, the Gnome devs are funny guys and another example is the Gnome file manager which makes me somethimes laugh but more often cry.
Stay tuned!
