Hello,
sabnzbd, the best!
I'm running sabnzbd version 1.2.3 on windows 10 home using Firefox browser 52.0.1; the problem I have is this: I check the "Launch Browser on Startup" box, save the changes but this change is not persistent across reboots. I had this issue with the previous version of sabnzbd so recently upgraded to 1.2.3 and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I opened the sabnzbd.ini file in a text editor to confirm that the auto_browser switch is set to 1, reboot the laptop and checked the file again, the auto_browser switch is set back to 0!
It looks like somehow the .ini file is getting overwritten after every reboot, can someone please help?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Not saving changes to ini file
That didn't work, I shutdown sabnzbd, edited the ini file located in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\sabnzbd\ and rebooted. Browser didn't launch on restart and the auto_browser switch was reset to 0!
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Not saving changes to ini file
Then do it the official way: via de SABnzbd webGUI
http://127.0.0.1:8080/sabnzbd/config/ge ... to_browser
Or: config -> general -> Launch Browser on Startup

Re: Not saving changes to ini file
The "official way" is how I was doing it before I edited the file manually and it wouldn't save the changes. I was using the webgui to check the "Launch Browser on Startup" box, hit the "save changes" button but wouldn't persist across reboots.

Does it persist without reboots?socketmail wrote: hit the "save changes" button but wouldn't persist across reboots.
And: are you running SABnzbd as a Windows service?

Re: Not saving changes to ini file
Yes it does persist without reboots and no I'm not running SABnzbd as a Windows service. I'm confused as to why, if anything, would overwrite a config file!
Re: Not saving changes to ini file
Weird. Could it be a Windows things? ... Windows restoring files?
As you don't run SAB as a Windows service, you can start sabnzbd like this "sabnzbd.exe -b1" to force-start a web browser.

Re: Not saving changes to ini file
Been a Unix engineer for more than 25 years, so don't deal with Windows much! I'm not sure why Windows would overwrite a 3rd party config file but who knows!
Anyhow, I ran the command 'sabnzbd.exe -b1' and it started sabnzbd AND launched the browser. So how can I make this permanent?

Good.Anyhow, I ran the command 'sabnzbd.exe -b1' and it started sabnzbd AND launched the browser.
I don't understand what you're asking. How to put 'sabnzbd.exe -b1' into a .bat or shortcut? Or are you repeating your question from your OP?So how can I make this permanent?
