"access denied" with Qnap NAS

Post by blaster86 »

Hello all,

I am a new member to this forum and have a question about a problem with my Qnap NAS TVS471.

I have installed sabnzbd and it works very well locally.
Unfortunately I can no longer access the webui remotely and get the error "access denied".

It used to work but something has changed and now it doesn't work anymore.

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Many thanks for your support

yes, I have already done that, but I have not found any help there.
There is always talk of a whitelist. I have also entered the URL of the QNAP NAS, but unfortunately without success.
Which address must be entered there?
can you give me an example please?

ok, I have a URL from my Qnap that looks something like this:

https :// mynas . myqnapcloud . com

I have entered this into my whitelist without h t t p s : / / but unfortunately without success.

I work with a Mac here. How can I access the configuration files and change the entries there?
Currently I open the local WebUI and then go to the settings.

Side-note: exposing your QNAP to the Internet is a terrible idea, and exposure using the myQNAPcloud service even more-so. QNAPs are not hardened for Internet exposure and are quite frequently hacked. Even QNAP finally acknowledged this: https://blog.qnap.com/nas-internet-connect-en/

If you want to access your QNAP from outside your LAN, run a VPN server instance on your router and connect to it first. Don't use the QVPN service in QTS.
Stuff I like: Apache bash cron DD-WRT Debian DNSMasq Entware FireFox GitHub ImageMagick Kate KDE LibreELEC Netrunner NFS NVIDIA OpenVPN Orvibo-S20 pfSense Python Raspberry-Pi RAID SABnzbd Transmission Usenet VirtualBox Watcher3 XFCE

Thank you for your support.

I was able to change the access to "Full web interface with password" in the main menu under the item security.

This has solved my problem.

But I still have one question. Is it possible to create multiple users for sabnzbd?

For access to the SAB webinterface? No.
