Two instances of Sab in the taskbar

Post by soco11 »

I have a weird problem. I have two icons in my taskbar for sab. In my processes I have two seperate instaces of sabnzbd.exe running. When I download something only one of the icons in the taskbar will turn green. In task manager, if I right click either of the instances of sab.exe and select "open file location" they both take me to the same folder. There is only one instance of sabnzbd.exe in that folder (my sab install folder).

My question is, Is this normal??
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1
Sabnzbd 0.7.9

No, it's not normal. When they're using the same data files, it's dangerous (for your downloads that is).
Stop one of the instances.

Ok! Maybe I should do a total uninstall. Then reinstall from scratch

Just a quick follow up. Did a full uninstall/reinstall. After doing that I found the actual problem. I use a program named WinPatrol. Let's you choose which programs start with your computer (and warns you when something was added to startup as well as delayed startups for programs). It was trying to start sab 0.7.9 as well as sab 0.7.3. Strange, but when I removed the entry of the older version all was fixed.
