This is driving me wild....
Every time i download either a tv episode or movie they extract into the correct locations with the correct naming convention but leave behind the empty unpack folder. e.g. Downton.Abbey.S05E01.720p.BluRay.FLAC2.0.x264-EbP (folder)
I have played with the sorting and categories tabs until i am blue in the face.
Heres my current setup: (By the way if i could figure out how to post attachments in this forum i would provide with visuals!)
Categories
Category|priority|processing|script|folder/path|group/indexer tabs
movies|default|+delete|default|//share/Multimedia/Videos/Movies/|movies*
tv|default|+delete|default|//share/Multimedia/Videos/TV Series/|tv*
Sorting
Series sorting
affected categories: tv
enable tv sorting ticked
sort string per my specification
Generic sorting
affected categories: movies and tv (i have tried without tv)
enable movie sorting ticked
keep loose downloads in extra folders ticked (it automatically ticked when i clicked no folders)
no folders pressed
sort string per my specification
Running SAB 0.7.20 on QNAP 870 pro FW 4.1.2, NO sickbeard or any of that
Can anyone help please?
or for the love of god at least show me how to post a screen shot

Re: SAB leaving unpack folder behind
Some operating systems (Windows is the worst) are paranoid about
deleting folders that may be used by other processes.
The simplest solution is to disable temporary folder names.
Config->Switches->enable folder rename

No problem, let me know if you need any more data from me
Re: SAB leaving unpack folder behind
Since you're using the Sorting functions for TV, you should not also use the asterisk * after the TV path.
The same goes for Movies.

Re: SAB leaving unpack folder behind
Where? in categories? I removed the * from both the movies category and tv category and now my api's arent categorised and the downloads sit in the sabnzb/completed folder instead of going to their proper homes
using dognzb btw

Re: SAB leaving unpack folder behind
Remove the * at the end of the category PATH, not from the indexer categories.

I don't have a * at the end of the category path, never have had
Re: SAB leaving unpack folder behind
You're right, I misread your screenshot.
Currently, I don't know what's wrong.
I'll do some more testing on Linux.
If the problem doesn't surface there it's specific for the QNAP.
In that case I cannot solve the problem.

Re: SAB leaving unpack folder behind
was this ever resolved? having similar issue with movies. The only asterisk is at the end of 'Movies' (no quotes) under 'Groups / Indexer tags'. The movies are not moving from COMPLETED to Main Movie folder.
Files with extensions NFO, PAR2 and NZB are left behind after TV and Movie downloads.
I use Sonarr for TV
thank you

Other problem.atebark wrote: Files with extensions NFO, PAR2 and NZB are left behind after TV and Movie downloads.
You remove those files by setting up a extension-based clean-up filter in Config->Switches, section Post-processing.
Re: SAB leaving unpack folder behind
oh, ok. thank you.
Is this the option?:
Ignore Samples/Cleanup List: nfo, par2, nzb, txt, jpg, bmp, tiff
I also checked off the below under "Queue":
Unwanted extensions: exe, rar, orig, com, txt, jpg, bmp, tiff
I cannot think of any other extensions right now. Any that I am missing?
thank you again!
